Wow. Bet they're so glad they left Upton Park for that.

I'm sure the press will make it out to be the best stadium in Britain. It looks soulless so different from Upton Park.

Will they actually be in use though? Swear I read something about them reducing the capacity?

It's starting to take shape on some recent videos. Closer to the pitch than I thought in some places, far away in others

May as well have seating areas in the concourse if they put some behind a fucking wall

It's presently taking 54,000 but will be up to capacity next weekend, for the PL, after final safety certificate. Have no envy, except re the millions they are making out of this outrageous farce, but would hate to be sitting so far from the pitch.
As for reduced vision seats, Everton surly take the biscuit, having the gall to reduce their useless seats by £1, yes ONE POUND! So you miss the goals, but hey, you save enough to buy half a cup of coffee.

Upton Park was my favourite ground. This can go fuck itself into AIDS, as well as the rest of WHU with it.

Been there tonight - much better than any camera makes it look but it is a big stadium. Distances to pitch in reality similar to other big stadia with the atmosphere surprisingly loud on occasions.
Re the gaps - if you look closer at the image above you'll see seats (not in place tonight) waiting to be lifted to fill the void. And there's still plenty of snagging all over.
Friendly with Juventus on Sunday is the official opening of The London Stadium as it now called.
They'll be plenty of knockers and they'd be right about some of the compromises for football but first impressions superb.

I think it's a right ugly looking stadium. Hampden park with different colour seats. It's got no character at all. Just a bowl with white seats. And the floodlights look bloody stupid. Just don't like it.

I'd be chuffed if my club avoided having points docked over financial shenanigans and so wasn't relegated as well. Good for them.

However the West Ham board have played a blinder . It will take West Ham from being club such as Stoke , to be able to compete with the London big boys . Why do people need to pour scorn on them ?

I think the major problem is that in a decent society 'playing a blinder' should not involve unfair practices - which is as politely as I can put it. They deserve nothing but misfortune in the future.

Is that temporary seating there to stay or is it just, erm "temporary" until they find a permanent solution? It must be frustrating in some aspects for West Ham fans to not end up with a stadium that has permanently been converted like the Etihad.
Looking at those photos some elements look superb yet some look really bad. Not sure what to think of it at all.

I have no problem with West Ham having the stadium To me the problem lies with the porn salesman being able to sell Upton Park and clear debts they had run up

The biggest question for me is how did they get to the ridiculously low figures. Didn't look like a lot of negotiating went on. It looks like G and S made the very low offer and the OS committee accepted it. Then paid for all the improvents at the cost to the taxpayer. It will never sit well and I'm sure at some point something will come out.

Be that by connections or a really poor public negotiating team. I'd expect nothing different from Stoke City given the same opportunities, all this carping is simply jealousy. Anyone with the intelligence to realise this is probably some form of back scratching exercise ought to have the intelligence to realise that if and when something does come out it will be some nobody who cops the blame for it whilst the people with any real power are shielded. Its done live with it.
