Alan Hudson does not walk on water, but he does run on lager. One of the finest players to ever don the red and white of Stoke City. A footballing genius.

The day he signed was magic. I can remember the excitement now. The most skilful player I've seen in the red and white.
Happy Birthday Huddy.

The word 'legend' is too often used in this day and age but for Hudson it is totally applicable.
Happy birthday Sir Alan.

If I ever see a footballer that comes anywhere near Huddy I will consider myself very lucky. Genuinely world class.

Same age as me, the excitement when he signed was incredible, his first match performance against Liverpool was brilliant and he continued week in week out despite getting pissed in the windmill most Friday nights. Happy birthday Alan

65 today. Get the bus pass Huddy!! Have a good un!! This post is exactly FIVE years too late. In UK, you get your bus pass at 60 Joe. Quite simply, Alan Hudson was the very best player I've ever seen in a Stoke shirt. Take a bow son, take a bow . . . . . Happy Birthday.

You have to have reached women's state pension age, which is now 65. (Unless you live outside England or in London) How can Huddy be 65? It just doesn't seem possible. He only looked about 12 when we first signed him.

Simply the best Stoke player, England midfielder and signing ever. The sheer disbelief when he signed and the pleasure as he turned us into genuine title contenders will never be beaten. Also the worst case of a Stoke player being shafted by an England manager. Happy birthday!

I can honestly say for two seasons in the seventies I hardly missed a home game because, Huddy was at his peak and,
I'll swear on a bible
I never recall seeing him give the ball away or get tackled once in those two seasons.
he did not rum across the mud he levitated - he transcended normal mortal ability
he literally could - 'walk on water'
never seen anything like him since
So good, so easy for him it was frightening - you really did pity the opposition and it was a true priviledge to witness
happy birthday ya old bugger
