Just watching him now
flowing long black locks, tireless effort - niggly - aggressive - a winner
reminds one of a certain Mickey Thomas
superb engine - run for ever
tackles and hunts the ball all day
decent footballer, Im told not really wanted at Liverpool - not deemed good enough
Defintely good enough for Stoke City I would say - ( on todays watching)

I'd have him in a flash. I quite like the lad. And can't imagine he would cost the earth

Probably the worst footballer I have ever seen.
I wouldn't give him a game for Market Drayton's under 7s girls' team.

Does he play better in the Whelan position or in the N'Zonzi/Imbula position? I must admit I've always thought he is a tidy player and wouldn't mind him at Stoke - although there is speculation that Swansea want him back.

Can't stand the jammy tart. Didn't want him last year and don't want him now. Doesn't have the Stoke DNA!

Well worth trying to get him - if the price is right, of course. I still feel that Swansea will be favourites - he's Welsh born and a Welsh speaker. Still, Sparky seem to do quite well at selling the club........

March and Foxy don't rate him? He's on for the Ballon D'Or at this rate... Just the sort of player I used to love playing against. I would have chased him back to the dressing rooms before the game had even kicked off.

He'd blow away with one gust of wind at the Bet365! Plus, he looks like he drives a Mazda MX5 with that poncey hair. He can't get in Liverpools midfield and id take ours before theirs. We need a Whelan replacement to grow into the role and Joe Allen is not that player.

I thought he was the best player on the pitch today. However, I am not sure that puts him in the top drawer overall. He can't get a game for the dippers.

Always make me think he's more of a Ray Wilkins sideways passer than the water carrier who can put his foot in that we need to provide competition for Whelan.

Just a shave, haircut and a wash off being a decent signing. I thought the common consensus was that it was the beard and the locks that had made him good
