Any players deemed "shit" by many on here who you wouldn't mind us signing?
Players like Joe Allen, Shane Long and Andy Carroll spring to mind for me. I reckon all three would have made us a better team, but they have all been slated at various times.
Any unpopular players you'd go for?

Jamie Vardy. Good call Dave, but bayern would storm out in a huff because of our lack of ambition!

Good call Dave, but bayern would storm out in a huff because of our lack of ambition! I wouldn't want him! Me neither. All that running in behind at pace, working hard and chasing down lost causes combined with a natural ability to find the goal. It really would not suit our style at all!

It really would not suit our style at all! It wouldn't. We have a player like that and we don't use him properly, Vardy would be the same. Unless we played to his strengths and hope he isn't a one season wonder.....

Joe Allen would be a real good signing.
Phil Jones from ManUre for a younger Glenn Whelan.
Cieron Clark from Villa as cover in defence solid pro in a dog shit side.

He was shit at the time though. So no. Bayernoatcake and his moveable goalposts...... Not at all, at the time he was shit. I don't think the current manager would get the best out of him though as we have a similar player (bar the clinicalness) who he hasn't managed right from day 1 of him joining!

Delph and Bony will be out of the door quicker than a Vale fan on Methadone day when the golden boy turns up at Man City. I'd be all over both of them.

The trouble with Man City, Chelsea and all the other shower of bastards is that they ruin average players like them (who would be great for us by the way). They buy them put them on massive wages that no-one else can match and they just sit on the bench getting splinters in their arses for 5 years because they don't want to take the huge pay cut they would have to in order to join us. We can afford the fee but not the wages.

We can afford the fee but not the wages. Man City would have to subsidise the wages maybe? Not sure Delph is defensive enough to be a Whelan replacement but he's a good player. I like Bony too but they paid £28 million to buy him, because they could. Even ignoring the wages issue, I can't see us forking out over £20 million but hey, we signed Imbula. I see Phil Jones has been mentioned. I actually think his best position is as a central defender and not in the defensive midfield he filled with United, and even England! I've no idea how injured he is or whether he really has become the forgotten man but I think he'd be great alongside Ryan.

Would Mark Hughes know of Phil Jones from his Blackburn days, even if he was playing in the youth team at that point? Think it was Big Sam that gave him his debut and sold him. Delph would be a super addition and anyone that laughed a fit Andy Carroll out of town is crazy. His problem has nothing to do with ability and everything to do with consistent availability for selection. He's a super player when fit. Bony (I've been told he's going back to Swansea) or Benteke (Hughes has had one attempt to get him before rebuffed), Delph, Ruddy, Townsend and Joe Allen would all be excellent signings for us and all have been dismissed as being crap by various luminaries on here...in the case of Joe Allen, one such luminary was me!

Does that mean you'd take Jones, Dave? I'm not a fan of him in an England shirt, nor do I believe that he has developed into the player everyone thought he'd be. In fact, I would say he was better in his brief spell at Blackburn, where he was playing regularly, than he is now. Would I take him? At the right price, absolutely. You'd probably find he's one that would improve massively with a consistent run of games and simply by feeling like a key man at a new club. Could he really be any worse than Wooly or more injury prone than Muniesa?

Could he really be any worse than Wooly or more injury prone than Muniesa? I think he needs to move on and reactivate his career. Didn't he coast £18 million when United signed him? At such a young age it's difficult to work out long term potential but I think he's a very good defender. He's quick, strong in the tackle and has good distribution. I'm in.....
