Loved the mad max movies
Two tracks here from, for me, the weakest in the series

R.E.M whatever happened to them? Er, they went from strength to strength, made shedloads and decided to call it a day. My personal favourite album was New Adventures but they set the bar ridiculously high.
I went to see REM in 1984, 'Fables of the Reconstruction' Tour, and as you say they've made shedloads. Couldn't put me finger on a fave, they've rarely put a foot wrong. imo. I can still enjoy all of their albums, going through a 'Life's Rich Pageant' phase, 'I am Superman' at the moment and this.... It seemed that during the 83/84 there was a mini invasion of American Indie bands: The Long Ryders, 10,000 Maniacs, Green on Red, The Rain Parade, Dream Syndicate, Los Lobos, spearheaded by REM. A mixture of Velvets/Folk/Psych and Country. Some brill tunes.

Green on Red, seemed to go from being a scuzzed up Velvets/Stooges tribute to a fully blown {out} boozed up Country orchestra in the space of three years...
- Death & Angels
- Gas, Food & Lodging.
-Gee Ain't it Funny. Off the brilliant 'No Free Lunch' ep. -

Just creeps in at 1989. Think I preferred the guitar-heavier version that got into the charts.

Saw these two or three times in the late 80s, always a good night out. For me, theirs is the definitive cover version of this song.
