The 1980's there was a flourishing of Surrealist pop. While Halfman Halfbiscuit were imagining that '99% of Gargoyle's looked like Bob Todd.' The Gargoyles were intent on portraying Bing Crosby as an evil Hollywood fish. "Let's have a look at those fins Bing."
Hull's finest. At that time it was also possible to Grab!Grab! The Haddock! too.

Continuing cheesy's Hull-related theme from the post above (although the Dolls themselves were from Sunderland) is the Toy Doll's 'You won't be merry on a North Sea Ferry'. Released 1986 I think but always sounds like it should be late 70s to me. This and 'The Lambrusco Kid' were always my favourites.

Some Bizarre Records nurturing ground for 80's synth pop. Soft Cell, B-Movie, Depeche Mode, Blancmange, The The and all that. My favourite from the groundbreaking 'Some Bizarre Compilation' 81-ish.

The associates were a fantastic group. Billy Mckenzie has a quite remarkable voice. Sulk was a very underrated album.

This lad showed some promise but never quite fulfilled his potential.

Absoluteley love Depeche Mode from 1989 onwards
The darker, sleazier sound they embraced (definitely not the early, poncey crap mind)
Violator and 1993's Songs Of Faith & Devotion are stunning pieces of work
Here's another one from Violator

Another one I like covertly
Mind you, I think it might be something to do with the fact that Diana Dors, in her younger days, was kind of my dream woman
then again, Id have had a bash on her in this video tbf!
