Looks like Leicester are closing in on the Premier Championship with 3 games left. I’m happy for this to happen for the following reasons.
1 Jim Johnson was a Leicester fan. I knew him from University days until his death in November 2011. He took his own life. We would go to the occasional Leicester games with him. I remember freezing on the terraces at the old Hull ground when we saw Leicester beat Hull in a very drab 3 Round Cup game in 1978 as well as a draw at Filbert St in the 80s against Coventry. Jim would have been entranced by Leicester success this year and at also, being Jim, that it would all go pear shaped. Sadly he is not around to comment and it proves ( obviously) the finality of the act of Suicide. I hope they do it for him.
2 I recall an essay about Football by the writer Julian Barnes a Leicester supporter several years ago. He thought that supporting a less fashionable club was an invitation to be a “Connoisseur of Failure”. As a Stoke fan I recognise membership of that club. Leicester is a small Midlands city about roughly the same size of Stoke. I used to go to Leicestershire to visit relatives, although they were really Rutland and were probably suspicious of things Leicester. Nevertheless it’s a rarity that a small city has achieved this position and you have to bracket their achievement with other smaller cities like Ipswich, Forest and Blackburn over the last half century. I think that their success should give heart to Stokies.
Leicester success rather reminds me of the victory of the Greeks in 2004 in the European Championship. A will to win and a collective spirit did lead to an ultimate victory even with journeymen players. And Leicester over the season have demonstrated that team spirit. 3 Robert Huth
4 Richard III
5 Err that’s it

Haha another Leicester thread... It's getting fucking ridiculous now, I'm all for them winning the league it'll be a great story but why so many fucking threads about them? Klopps wankfest was annoying but this, this is fucking making me sick. Like Gods said they will crumble like a stack of cards. Not this season but next season guaranteed. Pressure will make the cunts crack. So stop concentrating on them and make threads about Stoke!

Back to this season.......8 points clear with 3 games to go, can they really fuck it up? If they do it will eclipse the barcodes capitulation from few years ago.

The reasons I don't.
1 - I'm a Stoke fan, we hate Leicester and I haven't forgiven them for the play offs in the mid 90s.
2 - anything that decreases our chances of doing something similar is bad for our club so I don't want it to happen
3 - they will be able to attract better players in the transfer window, further extending their superiority over us.
4 - jealousy

Also I don't think they will struggle next season. They probably won't win the league (!) but it isn't a given they will struggle.

Gap will likely be cut down to 5 tonight, but yeah - I really can't see them slipping up now. Unbelievable story, I'm delighted for Ranieri. Am I bitter a team nearly relegated is set to become champions when we've nearly been relegated for so long? No, no not at all...

And why do some of us insist on relating everything back to Stoke? Even bearing in mind we are all stokies it gets daft.
A conversation about Jarzinho's goals in 1970 would somehow end up being about Sidibe or something.

Just people enjoying the possibilities our wonderful game can offer. The concern arising from the probability that a team of equal level will now be firmly installed ahead of us in the league far outweighs the joy deriving from the possibilities which the wonderful game can offer. But perhaps that's just me

Do you want the shit win because otherwise Crystal will get a rush of blood and confidence and finish higher than us next year?

That's just an argument for permanently installing some big three/four/five in the top spots. Might as well pack up.

They have shown all other small clubs that if you want to work hard enough you can succeeed both in recruiting and developing players . the also play fast attacking football score great goals , get the crowd of thir feet and hopefully show the dull possession with no purpose model up for the sham that it really is .
I really hope thay do it because no doubt the usual suspects will regroup for next season so this will be a real one off

Leicester? Seems like many posters on here are congratulating their achievement. What is their to forgive them for they beat Stoke over two legs, no controversy that I can see. Jealousy fair enough.

Please not another Leicester thread. When will this wankfest end?! I think more curious than the Leicester threads are the resentful and bitter responses. This is definitely something to be celebrated. Football fans have had to wait over 20 years for the elite, privileged clubs to get one put over them. Its a victory for football and Leicester have opened the door for a more equal playing field in our national game. Its huge. The Abramovichs and Glazers didn't read this in the script.
