Good for Stan. Lescott's a wanker for tweeting a picture of a nice car he can afford and most fans who gave him stick could only dream of being able to afford.

It's strange from lescott, he's not been one of footballs bad boys before in his long career. Given he's also playing for the club he's supported as a boy too, he's coming across as a right prick.

Fucking brilliant that is, I'll bet none of the spineless bastards rang him As Collymore says, he was pretty shit at Villa himself, I was thinking that during the early part of his rant BUT these lads really have taken shite to another level. Way to stick in the boot Stanley

Tbh honest as a journalist he should keep his thoughts to himself and not get personal with individuals, a bit unprofessional IMO . Very true none the less

To be fair after being shit and fighting relegation I bet they are glad it's over. And lescott may be right in that now it's confirmed it might give them the freedom to play a bit.
That said its one of the poorest prem team ever considering the resources

You can certainly tell Stan's a genuine Villa fan in that rant.
Relegation is fucking horrible. It's good to lash out.

Very true none the less Bollocks, he's a radio commentator not a politician or a diplomat. He's paid for his opinion and it's quite refreshing to hear that as a fan and a commentator he's saying what non of the other insipid yes men on the BBC, Sky and BT dare say. He's owrate is Stan despite being a yam yam bastard and is perfectly entitled to air his opinion.

That is brilliant and shows he does love Villa like there fans do. The players havent put any effort in and then take the piss out of the fans by the twitter pic and richards having ago back at fans.
I know if we went down like that with players like them I would be going mental

Good on him. Like some one said on the radio yesterday - the worst thing that you can be accused of, as a professional footballer, isn't being poor technically, or not being good enough, it's not trying.
Those Villa players should be ashamed of themselves, but I suspect a swathe of them won't, because they're simply mercenaries.
It will be criminal if any of them manage to find a foot-up into the Premier again in the summer window.

I couldn't believe Lescott had the gall to speak to the press. I was also left with my jaw dropped with the shit he was coming out with.
Got a lot of time for Stan. Shame his past precedes him as he's next to Neville in terms of punditry.

Weight is off our shoulders????
Fucking prick...fair enough for a sunday league pub side player who can't deal with pressure but there's a reason why he's titled a "Professional" footballer!!! why do you think you're getting paid tens of thousands of pounds a week Joleon???
Maybe i should be utter shite at my job for months on end then when we lose a contract because of it just explain i'll be fine now the weights of my shoulders. See what happens. Fucking klingon

Tbh honest as a journalist he should keep his thoughts to himself and not get personal with individuals, a bit unprofessional IMO . Very true none the less Maybe so, but as a genuine life long fan(unlike Richards,Lescott and Flabby) there comes a tipping point and Stan reached his yesterday, like others have said lack of ability I can handle, getting stuffed by better sides I can handle, but not trying I can never handle and this bunch of disinterested overpaid pampered gutless wankers have took the piss out of all of us Villa fans and ultimately when they all fuck off(sooner rather than later) they will leave behind a shattered relationship between club and fans, and worse than that because of their abject surrender to relegation they have put quite a few good honest people out of work not to mention the impact on local businesses due to lower crowds and more midweek games, so all in all they fucked a lot of people over I hope they are proud of themselves UP THE VILLA !

Didn't mince his words, did he!
Like that bit about Bacuna playing on his hoverboard at Brum airport after they'd lost at Southampton. Says it all... "Oh, so we lost a game of nogger. Who gives a fuck. I'll piss about on this toy until I get on the plane to go home away from this mess. I don't give a damn about those fans who've wasted their hard earned brass to see me strolling about. Same goes for those daft sods who'll get the sack when we go down."
Well done Stan. Spoken like a true fan and not a mercenary bastard who doesn't give a shit. Much like one of my mates who's a dyed in the wool Villa Fan. He's devastated at what's gone on, not wholly because they've gone down, but because of the way the players didn't show any backbone in their fight against relegation.
OS.

I know a lot on here say booing and giving your own players shit doesn't achieve anything, but under the circumstances I can't think of anything more that your players deserve. They haven't played for the cause, not for the club, not for the fans, hell not even for themselves. They deserve nothing but hate and bile in my opinion. Even better, absolutely no one turns up. What a message that'd be.

What a message that'd be. Mate, a real cauldron of hate is awaiting them now relegation is 'official' they've had some stick but a lot have held back until now! The last home game is Newcastle that will be interesting as the hate for our team is on a par with our dislike of their precious fans, they've really pushed the boat out where slagging us Villa fans off is concerned, banners with "your not laughing anymore" referring to their last day relegation at Villa Park, if we by some miracle beat them and send them down with us I feel the players will get off a lot more lightly than they deserve, but if they play to form and get stuffed they will get both barrels and some! And if Newcastle fans take the piss which they will do I can see an eventful day to say the least, having said all that I've got to say after the stick we gave them we deserve everything coming our way and sadly some of our fans won't deal with it in the right way!

I take the lack of fight, spirit and determination point but, for me, it boils down to the fact the Villa's squad is as weak as piss. Yes fair enough, the players could give more and should give more at the very least but when you know your team isn't good enough and there's no investment coming in from the top, what sort of encouragement does that give you?
If I was getting paid thousands a week I'd like to think I'd give my all no matter what but when your all isn't necessarily enough, what else can you do? The only teams that 'go down fighting' are the newly promoted teams who aren't expected to do much. Because Villa are seen as an established, respected club, they aren't 'expected' to go down but if you look at their squad, it's got to be one of the weakest ever to have competed in the Premier League and that comes from the money men at the top.
The players could have given more but even if they had, I still don't think the Villa fans would have been happy with it and proud they'd "gone down fighting" because of the club they are.

Nah, I don't buy that. You could say the same of Bournemouth, or even us when we came up. If you're a determined group of players, no matter who you are or where you've come from, you give yourself a fighting chance of surviving. Them useless fuckers gave up the ghost months ago. Agbonlahor didn't just become unfit overnight, that's months of neglect.

Agbonlahor didn't just become unfit overnight, that's months of neglect. I honestly think Villa's side is miles worse than either our promotion side and Bournemouth's. Bournemouth and ourselves were already geared up for it being a massive task and already had the squad unity and togetherness. Villa have been stitched together with some bang average, ageing players expected to turn things around. There is lots to be said for spirit and sheer will winning you games but that doesn't just come naturally within a couple of months. You can't expect to survive just on that, though. You need some quality, something that will win you some points and Villa's squad is devoid of any of that. We had a stern defence, Rory's throw and our fans. Bournemouth are a good footballing side who have lost heavily against big sides but picked up points where it matters. Villa haven't got anything at all which I don't think you can blame the players for. The players have undoubtedly been wank and their lack of effort is piss poor but if I were a Villa fan I'd definitely be aiming the bulk of my anger at the chairman and investors.

To be fair Villa have got the 7th highest wage bill in the Prem and last summer they bought:
Jordan Ayew £9m, Jordan Amavi £8.25m, Adama Traore £7.5m, Jordan Veretout £7.5m, Idrissa Gueye £6.75m, Rudy Gestede £6.4m, Scott Sinclair £2.6m, Joleon Lescot £1m, Jose Angel Crespo £0.5m.
I'm not sure what's happened there but it's not like there wasn't any investment in the team going on.
