The song that could start toes tapping in a mortuary It was a great time to be alive young man I thank the Lord that my mother was the youngest of 8 which meant I had shedloads of older cousins into every sort of music going

Having a Scottish themed evening music wise. Some Aztec Camera, Deacon Blue, and then Del Amitri who are one of my all time favourite bands, followed by Amy Macdonald later. Just posting some of the Del's stuff though (well I like it anyway ! )

Don't know whether anyone saw the episode of Long lost Family which featured K T Tunstall. She came over as a thoroughly likeable young woman.

You've lost me its a high fidelity reference Well that was my entry point to Belle and Sebastian back in 1998, an album heavily recommended by Q magazine that I thought might be right up my street. That particular song was there tribute to the man who signed The Pretenders, Talking Heads, Depeche Mode, The Cure, The Smiths and Madonna. I've never like Jack Black but even he couldn't ruin The Holiday It's probably why I haven't seen the clip before. This track was also on that album, a foot tapper I nearly managed to get on the stage to dance to it at Liverpool last year. I was better placed at Manchester but the lad threatened me

I'm not even exaggerating when i say this is probably the greatest thing ever recorded, by anyone, ever in the history of everything best consumed through a pair of quality headphones.

Not heard this before ... fantastic! I'm a big fan of Courtney Barnett and they did an album together. I saw Kurt Vile at the Albert Hall, Manchester last year I can heavily recommend him and the venue Yeah I really like the War on Drugs stuff, I've meant to listen to the Kurt Vile albums but somehow never got round to it. I've been into Courtney Barnett since Sea of Split Peys - she's ace. I think the Albert Hall is now my favourite venue in Manchester, next gig there at the mo, is Jesus and the Mary Chain in April.

I saw Courtney Barnett there on a hot summer's night. The sun was streaming through all the stained glass windows it was a fabulous experience. Belle and Sebastian played there this year as well I took my lad with me and he thought it was a fantastic venue. He's a student in Manchester and they still haven't done the Bongo Bingo yet
