If he picks Forster he'll have an anti-Stoke agenda. If he picks Butland he'll be 'hanging him out to dry against the world champions'.

I can certainly see the sense in giving them both a game but I think it would represent a bit of a snub to Jack if he picks Forster on Saturday.
Jack is clear number 2 to Hart in most people's eye (there's a poll on the Racing Post where 80% think he should play) and tomorrow's is the premiere fixture of the two, against World Champions and rivals for the Euro's.
As a Southampton season ticket holder though, I fully expect Woy to pick Forster.

He's just an odd person to have as England manager. When Kevin keegan was England boss you could understand the players wanting to listen to a bloke who was European player of the year twice and a legendary player for Liverpool hamburg and England. Even Glenn hoddle was highly effective for spurs Monaco and England. But Roy played for maidstone united and gravesend and I am not sure how this gives him the knowledge of knowing what it's like to play against Spain Germany Italy etc

Only two of the last six World Cup winning coaches were capped as players. The 1994 final was contested by two coaches who never played professionally. As average as Hodgson has been, Keegan was a much worse England manager IMO.

This during a golden era where we had Beckham, Shearer, Owen, Gerrard, Scholes etc etc. You can't hold Keegan up as a stick to beat Woy with; Woy has a win percentage of 60 percent; with a squad of bang-average players.

You have a point PP but those wins have been in the WC and Euro Qualifyng game against countries well below England in FIFA rankings with the exception of Switzerland. When we've been up against decent teams we've failed miserably and will do so in the Euros I expect.

It's not a new phenomenon.

It's a fair choice either way, both are good goalkeepers who deserve a chance. So long as they both get a game, I think he'll have done the right thing.
It's nice to have such a reliable stock of goalkeepers, rather than Rob Green, Scott Carson and David James!

I can't predict which game he will let Jack start. I think whoever starts the Germany game will be considered the number two to Hart but this game carries the most risk from Jack or Forsters perspective. I suppose though if you have designs on being number one then you have to perform with no questions asked. My biggest worry is that the twat will play safe and go for Forster because he is older and will know that Jack has a future long after he's gone because he's so young.

This comment really shows what a complete buffoon he is. At this point he should at least know his strongest line up and using these friendlies to gel them as a team, but apparently not. ........
"I can't absolutely guarantee every single player will feature in the two matches but our intention is to use the whole squad to look at people and give them the chance to impress."
God help us at the Euros this summer, we are stuffed.

Butland should play both. If he played for Liverpool I suspect he would. Hodgson is a bigclubcunt. This is complete hogwash in my opinion. Hart still holds the No. 1 jersey, while both Butland and Forster have been in good for Hart has done nothing to be stripped of the number 1 top. Presumably Hart will make a full recovery in a few weeks and reclaim the no. 1 spot for the Euros. I'm the first to say I don't rate Hodgson as an international managerbut giving both Butland and Forster a game is good management.

He should be, at the very least, a clear number 2 behind Hart (which means he should come in when he's absent). Giving him both games would give him good preperation should anything happen to Hart in the actual tournament.
