Found this, amazing how deep he dropped at times. Wonderful touch and balance. Made the game seem so simple.
A true legend of the game.

Very few players are able to change the face of football for ever and I consider myself very lucky to have seen Johan Cruyff in his prime.

Tragic news.
A true icon of the game and his methods live on at Barcelona in every level they were taught to pass and move and to play exactly the same as the first team with flair and enjoyment.
I think it worked!!!
He started it all off at Barcelona and he is a legend at that club still to this day and is adored, the Catalans will be devastated by the news as we all are.
R.I.P legend

Like ’legend’, the worthy phrase, ‘transcends the game’ is used far too liberally but he is one of the 6 or 7 who have ever existed, who can wear both those terms with no dispute. I was a toddler in ’74 yet I’ve known his name all my life. Deserves every accolade he gets.

Football has lost one of it's true icons. The player everybody wanted to be when you were kicking a cheap plastic ball around a muddy park. Brian Clough called him Joe Han Cruft.

A Rolls Royce of a player. The Dutch have produced some world class footballers, Van Basten, Gullit, Bergkamp. Rijkard, Neeskens etc.. this guy was head and shoulders above them all. He then carried that into his coaching career, one of the greatest exponents of the beautiful game. RIP

He'll turn his grave inside out, that's for sure.
Rest in peace, Johan. Total football.

My absolute hero a total footballer.I remember the Cruyff turn as after seeing it for the first time I tried it in a game in the then NSW Div 1 match v Hakoah and got a bollocking from the coach a certain ex Celtic player John Cole. Along the lines of "cut out the fancy stuff son"... ....

Innovator. Wasn't happy just 'playing' football had to take his game to the next level. God like genius of the game. RIP Cruyff ⚽️

I always wore the number 14 shirt whenever I played football after watching this man on tv as a kid. The 74 World Cup especially. RIP.

Feel like I did when Lou Reed or John Lennon died. Bloody sad! He was a genius.
