You don't have to be approached you are free to approach them and Ang has posted on here several times before how you can do so if you have points to raise. I think they do exactly what they are meant to do which is raise the points that certain fans have asked them too. It's not their job to persuade, argue or question what the club thinks is best, they pass on the supporters views it's then up to the club what they do with that information. Do I think it makes a difference, do I think the club changes anything based on the SC meetings ? No I think the club does as it pleases but that's not the SC fault is it and they shouldn't be abused because of it, your shitty comments are being aimed in the wrong place. I have asked many a question on here and not had an acknowledgement. Approach who? Where? At the ground? Do you think it's a shitty thing to have a pop at supporters representatives who advocate a rise in ST prices? So you're agreeing with me that it is a defunct organisation then? If they have no effect on the club just what is the point? Come on, it's a cosy little tea and biscuits club. I believe they have Twitter/Facebook/email accounts etc I have raised one point which I'd sent to ange on mail and that was raised at the following meeting which was the 4 monthly payment on ST being removed with no notice from the club. If you want to speak to them at the ground I'm sure that can be arranged too. The member who advocated a rise in tickets has been discussed on multiple occasions and it was not a shared view and I believe this person is no longer with the SC. I agree that it doesn't change much no but the people that give up their free time to try and help fellow supporters by voicing an opinion that normally wouldn't be possible should not be abused by small minded individuals on a message board. It's not right at all and like a previous poster has suggested if you think you can change things join them and help or try and do something different to advocate change, don't sit behind your keyboard having a pop at fellow supporters for trying to do something.

The fact that the 'member' even came out with that at a meeting brings into question the running of the SC. I asked the chair whether SC members got their ducks in a row before the meeting - no answer. I don't see how I am abusing anyone. All I am questioning is the effectiveness of the SC and saying I don't believe in it.

In the cold light of day I think you are correct. I don't suppose there are many people who will stop going because of the shit stadium, shit facilities and shit traffic/parking problems. The owners will always have the argument that what would the punters prefer...20million on a new player or a stadium upgrade. The answer is both. 20 million on a player and 20 million on a stadium upgrade. Still leaves 10 's of millions left over from the TV money. Sent from my GT-I9192 using proboards Where's all this left over money coming from? The last time I looked we'd just about broke even. Since then we've signed imbula for big money. Bojan new contract. What the increase? Around 30 million? At least half of that will get eaten up by contract increases.

Yes! What gave it away? I knew one person had said it, didn't know about the rest agreeing. Has anyone got the minutes of said incident? Alan Clarke stated that he felt that the prices should go up by 5%. He felt it would be financial suicide to keep prices the same.
Andrew Copestick agreed with Alan but hoped they didn't increase, however if the prices went up, he would find the cash.
Roger Bennett added that he understands the business implication of freezing prices so feels that an increase is justified however the Club should keep this minimal and a staggered increase.
Joe Haynes feels that the Season Card has been great value for money for the last 8 seasons and that the Club could warrant a small price increase
John Slaney agreed with the views above and if there is any price increase this is as little as possible.
Regina Colclough and Julia Zuk agreed with all the previous comments of price freeze but a small increase may be justified
Knut Ole Rosted advised that from coming overseas he understands the reasons behind any sort of price increase to keep the business growing. www.stokecityfc.com/news/article/supporters-council-meeting-minutes-2115727.aspx

Imbula's salary replaces N'Zonzi's. Give or take. Bojan was an extension not an increase wasn't it? We'll always 'just' break even that's way way Prem clubs are run/presented to the accountants.

We will need to compete financially to make new signings and keep ours. Sad. But that's the way it works.

So we shouldn't expand the ground because there maybe a few empty seats for the occasional game. And that may look a bit shit.
Well, if your only going to have enough seats so that you can fill them every game, then why the fuck wasn't the Brit built with a capacity of ten thousand?
Also, I know some people have gone a bit soft after a few years in the Premiership, but really, can't you stand seeing a few empty seats occasionally? Does it hurt your eyes? Just how did you get on 10 or so years ago?
I heard Ange the other night saying that as we didn't sell out against Newcastle that was a reason for not expanding. We're selling out pretty much every Saturday game. Fans who live a distance away, like me, who can't make plans 3 weeks ahead, and can't currently get to mid-week games are pretty much screwed now.

I just think that is more difficult to get to midweek games due to personal circumstances. My point was Angela did not seem at all to be bothered about stadium expansion or the improvement of the concourses She suggested that the ground would have to be closed for a while and we would have to play our games at Vale Park during any building work Clueless.

Did she really say that? A freezing cold March night when Newcastle took the small allocation when there was literally a couple of hundred or so empty seats and that's the justification? And the SC wonder why fans think they just roll over and have their belly tickled by Scholes?

Keep coming back to the point of the stadium infrastructure - what is the point of creating even more chaos by facilitating thousands more bodies into a road system that simply cannot cope? (Midweek games are almost a no go area for those of us who travel a bit of a distance - the motorways are a nightmare only to be followed by the disaster that is the local road network. You need to set off about 4 hours in advance and not bank on getting home till well after mid-night.) If you want to park within spitting distance of the ground it's inevitable you'll get involved in delays. I park in Trentham and walk to the stadium - from final whistle to back home in Birmingham 85-90mins; no complaints from me.

I know what Coates has promised but you said we could spend 20 + 20 = 40 Million and still have 10's of millions left out of the TV money. That simply isn't true. People look at the new 100 Million TV deal and think it's 100 million new money when it's roughly a 30 million increase, and when we're only breaking even now and the inevitable Wage demands jump up there's no way we've got that sort of money spare to chuck around. We have got the money if PC decides to do it but it'll be borrowed money from Bet365 not left over money. It's well known that Shawcross has a contract to keep him inline with the top earner, Imbula will have come in on big wages, probably double what Nzonzi was getting, and Shawcross will have got a pay increase to match it. 5 Years ago our top line was probably 40-50K now I bet it's pushing the 100K mark. It's what always happens, this TV money increase will mainly go on players wages. Always has always will. Edit - Just had a look at the accounts, we made a 5.7 Million profit last year. But the balance sheet is still 35 Million in the red.

Could the club be a little bit clearer on the subject, Absolutely!! BUT they have built up enough trust with what they have done over the best part of 10 years to justify my trust in them on this. What would you prefer investment on the training ground that the players and academy team use everyday enabling for the potential of improvement in match day performances and results or 1800 additional seats that makes absolutely no difference to the squad or performance at all ? As previously stated the club have advised we have a large contingent of concession ST holders and we are doing even more with schools and youngsters to give them the opportunity to come to games and they obviously don't see a problem in bringing the next generation of fans through at the moment, after all we are not all gonna pop out clogs tomorrow and the ground will be empty. In fact I'd suggest that as long as we remain in the PL the ground will always be 70% full at least whether that's next year or in 20 years time. Expanding the fanbase might be on the to do list but I guarantee winning a trophy or European qualification are a bigger priority at the moment and to do that you don't need to spend money on the stadium and I certainly know which d prefer. One thing is for sure we won't be building any expansion whilst we are advertising on Groupon to sell tickets !!

If you don't entice the floating fan or the new generation of fans you end up with a fixed, ageing fan base so these kind of offers should be embraced. What enticed those fans to come out of their nice warm homes on that Monday night against Swansea when they could have watched it on the box then if the will is not there?

But hang on if you're saying Groupon has no success then it's irrelevant as the seats are being filled with or without it surely? What enticed those fans to come out of their nice warm homes on that Monday night against Swansea when they could have watched it on the box then if the will is not there? Maybe it is maybe it's not, I have no idea we would need to see the stats behind ticket sales. You could sell 2000 on groupon one week and 20 the week after, are those that buy from groupon repeat customers etc The fact is to advertise on groupon in the first place means we cannot sell our tickets locally where 99% of our fanbase exists, even at reduced ticket prices for the Newcastle game.

Why ? for wanted European football and a trophy before expansion ? If that's the case if guarantee a fair percentage are small minded. Can't we have both? We need a stadium fit for purpose. The minimum required are wind breaks. The concourses should be done and Delilahs revamped. The club are lazy. Delilah's is really poor, could be so much better........
