Bit of advice needed please guys. I recently cancelled Sky and my missus (following her friends recommendations) said we should buy a Humax freesat box, which I have to say works perfectly but is limited with the channels and no sport ! Can you use a Firestick in conjunction with a freesat box and if so what is the easiest or best way to get sports channels ? Can I get Kodi or similar with this proposed set-up ? Thanks for your help. honestly I would recommend getting an android box instead of a firestick Thanks, can you recommend any boxes that I could take a look at ?

I found a stream for Middlesbrough vs Hull on Zem last night. It was good quality! I'm gonna ring Sky & cancel everything & then upgrade my broadband to fibre optic. People around the world are doing this. This TV money bubble will burst eventually. My father in his 70s is streaming via KODI now -- And every punter I know here in Canada locally I rang Sky yesterday & told them to cancel everything. I then managed to get a deal for £32 that includes bacic Sky TV, phone & fibre optic broadband. The fella on the phone waived the set up/delivery fee on the fibre optic

Virgin miraculously realised that they could charge me £30 a month less, when I threatened to leave them last week.

Firestick is good so far folks!
Just a quick question. When streaming the footy it's a bit stop/start. Would buying a Kodi box plugged in via Ethernet be quicker than using wi-fi on the Firestick?
Exodus works perfectly everytime on the Firestick.

I have a firestick in one room and an android box in another, Smoothsreams is installed on both, the box via ethernet knocks the stick in fits for reliability.

Tip for everyone, sorry if already posted. Any buffering probs etc can be sorted if your router is given a clear sight of your kodi box. My BT ancient router has a long lead and I can place it in the lounge facing the Kodi box. No probs!

Impossible to tell right now. I dont think we will see any change for the rest of the season while the isps get their shit together to enforce it. There will always be a way around it for us as the viewer anyway.

Greedy multi millionaires. I have a ST at Stoke, go to some away games. What more do they want ? If Sky and the likes charged a sensible monthly subscription of say £10/15, instead of ripping people off, they would have far more customers and probably make a lot more money. Stoke would not be on that often anyway, and I won't be spending loads of money to watch MU etc every week.

I don't think this will have the big benefit sky think out will. Enough people have stopped paying over the top prices and I don't believe they'll return to it. Instead there will be fewer and fewer people engaged like what has happened with boxing offer the years.

I think it is a token protest, achieving it would cost a fortune in monitoring. Copyright law in the UK is quite poor and provided you are not acting as a business (as do sellers of pre-loaded Kodi boxes) it is a civil matter and they would have to take each individual user to court. Hardly cost effective. Even if they brought the cost down, not all matches are on BT or SKY. A good proxy and you are into NSBC in the USA who carry all matches as do Bien. They are howling at the moon.
