As my boy plays more and more football, I thought this would help me see the game. All told, its pretty wank Three things u need to make kodi work... A good quality android box or PC linked to your tv. (Fire sticks don't make the grade low cpu and ram power and the wifi capabilities of a zx spectrum). A good internet connection, wired is much more efficient than wifi. If u can't plug into your router use Powerline adapters available fro Argos and eBay for about 30 quid. This gives you a wired connection which will run at or near to the broadband speed into your router. If u must go for wifi your box needs to be in the same room as your router so it runs st good speed. For those using a slow connection or dodgy wifi install an app called tcp buffers on your box and run the app prior to opening kodi. This will increase your connection speed. A fully updated kodi setup the wookie wizard as highlighted many times in this post is the way to go, it is updated every few weeks with all the latest addons. I'm being serious if you did not get a good stream today it was an equipment or Internet speed issue. I've set boxes up for loads of people and everyone had perfect streams today through Phoenix and Njm.

The streams I got were pixelated and I don't know how to turn off that accelerator thing or where to find it l don't even know where to find the settings things l suppose I'm a total fuktard Click settings on home page. Then on the left hand side of screen select third option down "video". The third option down again "acceleration". Take red dots out of all options on right hand side with word acceleration in them. That's it pixels disappear.

I still don't understand why people are having problems with kodi. Keep it updated and use 16.0 version you won't have any problems. Use a android box or laptop, firesticks are rubbish. I've got the kodi app and I never have any problem on that either.

Heard from two people at work today who had problems with the match, one using a Fire stick and one using an M8 box. I'm not gloating, this is the first time since Robocop stopped where I picked up a stream on the first attempt (Phoenix Live Sports link 1), had 2 slight buffering instances in the 1st half but it was 720p @ 30fps (approx 4.2Mbps) on my Fire TV (not the stick the box)
I think it's mainly to do with the quality of the stream from the plugin, although having decent hardware does help. Never tried a fire stick but surely they must be OK with the amount of people using them for Kodi plugins.

I use a Raspberry Pi as I think it gives by far the best Kodi experience of any of the portable TV devices, when set up properly of course. Had another go at the free streams and once again, the quality was okay, but nothing special. Guess we'll have to agree to disagree on the differences between free streams and SS.

Not sure never used one but they do have a problem as they don't have the hardware too support a wireless connection. Like I said I have kodi on my laptop, phone and box and have no problems with them, with all the videos online too about how to do things etc I don't get why people are having problems. As for ss the only time I'd think of paying for a stream is if they weren't available for free anywhere, but they are. It just takes time too learn where and when the best streams are situated.

I tried to do this but "video" is the second option down, selected it and there was no "acceleration" option. Can't find one anywhere.

Eddy it might be slightly different depending on the device you are using and the version of KODI installed. I suspect from your post you still may be using version 15 rather than the latest 16. If you are able to, download the latest KODI version from here Kodi DownloadIf you cannot do this then here is a wiki on how to change video acceleration settings on the older versions Settings guideand here Change Acceleration settings

I think the better quality is enough for me at the moment. As I've said, if SS ever reduce their fps to 30 or something, then I'll probably stop my subscription. I had a go with the free streams this weekend though and just wasn't that impressed. I suppose I've been lucky because SS has always been superb. I couldn't find a 720p stream for any of the games apart from the Arsenal one.

Tried it with the stick but you still need an internet connection to access the downloads and I want to take it on holiday for the kids
