Cameron has to be right back... I fully agree, but he's not fit, and we don't know how long he's going to be out for.

Cameron has to be right back... I fully agree, but he's not fit, and we don't know how long he's going to be out for. Hopefully after this break he will be or it has a huge impact on our play. Our game plan revolves around the full backs having the confidence and ability to attack, which Bardsley simply doesn't offer.

Has thee been any updates on Glen today? Noticed on twitter today that he was out and about in Hoxton and the pics didn't suggest he was on crutches or anything. Hopefully that's a promising sign.

Does anyone know about the actual extent of Johnson's injury? Or even Cameron's return date?

Not sure how solid the info is, but The Sentinel think Cameron may return for Villa. Stoke headed for the beach on their first day in the Gulf, enjoying comfortable temperatures in the mid-20Cs while rain and sleet battered the Potteries. They hope Ryan Shawcross (back), Geoff Cameron (ankle) and Marc Muniesa (hamstring) will all have recovered in time for their next game, at home against Aston Villa on February 27. You would think the extent of Johnson's injury would be known by now wouldn't you?
They have had 5 days to arrange a scan.
I know sometimes they hold fire on scans if there is excessive swelling, I wonder if that is the case, otherwise I am mystified as to why we have heard nothing.

Surely they must be fit now it's certainly a problem if they're not fit for Villa.

At least I think we could hold off the likes off Cameron and Shawcross etc for an extra week playing Villa, I know saying this now we will probably gift them 3 points but don't think there's any point rushing any of our players to be fit for this one as think our back up players like Bardsley should be enough against Villa, probably the best fixture we could ask for under the circumstances!

I agree. The worrying thing is that all we seem to be getting "could be fit" and that seems to have been dragging on now for 4-5 weeks which is a little concerning.

I think I'd prefer to suffer Bardsley for a bit than ever have to see Cameron at right back again. I'm only half joking when I say that I'd take Diouf over both.

Johnson out for "several weeks". Doesn't sound quite so hopeful re Cameron, Muniesa and Ryan for Villa. "Ryan hasn't joined in with the group yet," said assistant manager Mark Bowen. "He's just started line running and is working himself to a standstill.
"The ideal scenario is to get him home next week and ready to join in with the other lads, then he has the best part of a week to see if he can make the Villa game."
Elsewhere, Geoff Cameron is expected to remain out as he is still sore in his ankle, while Glenn Johnson is several weeks away from a return after injuring his knee ligaments when falling awkwardly at Bournemouth last weekend.
Phil Bardsley will be on standby to replace Johnson against Villa if he overcomes the dead leg that sidelined him at Bournemouth.
"He got a knee in the side the day before the Bournemouth game," said Bowen, "and the pain was that bad it felt like he'd broken his leg. But we are hoping he will be ok."
Marc Muniesa is undergoing aerobic work on his tweaked hamstring in the hope of being available for the Villa fixture.Read more: www.stokesentinel.co.uk/Stoke-City-Ryan-Shawcross-comeback-trail-Dubai/story-28762992-detail/story.html#ixzz40aWMWRL0

So If Muni is out who plays in the middle? Tex I guess. It really does ask the question why didn't we get a CB or RB on loan in the window when there were no return dates on Ryan and Geoff. It could really affect our finishing position come the end of the season.

It'd be nice if the RB and CB from the u21s could get on the bench rather than putting 6 forwards.

So unlucky with the injuries I mean two in one game last week plus with Ryan out and Wilson getting crocked aswell!
Defence v villa if everyone not fit.
Bards Wolly Texiera Pieters
Players out who would normally be selected.
Ryan Johnson Cameron Muniesa Wilson
That's 9 senior defenders on the books anymore would be daft.
We Got to have faith in those who come in until contracts run out and they leave, the likes of, Tex Wilson Bards and maybe Muni because of his fitness. He was worth the gamble on a free though as was Bards who is still solid enough when concentrating properly!
I think Hughes no doubt in the summer will regroup and get in decent replacements/cover at the back. He has to.
