I think with Shawcross we probably didn't manage right with not giving him any rest after coming back. He was off for a long time and backs are funny things. He then played every minute. I find Cameron's injury curious. Every week it seems like they say he's back in 1-2 weeks and then that week will come and it's the same again. Muni obviously is just a crock. They either need find a plan of keeping him fit in the next 18 months and if they can't, get rid.

So depending where it is, even putting shoes on could be delaying etc. I'm not a medical professional and don't think you are either, just one of those things. I remember when I had tissue damage in my hip they told me 2 weeks rest, I was struggling to walk 3 months later.

He's been 1-2 weeks away from fitness now for ages. It suggests to me he could be out for a while longer. It's very similar to how they dealt with Shawcross before he had the op. He'll be back next week.....was out for months.

Any U21 players to take the step up? We need defenders among the subs, that's for sure!

Shotton and to a certain extent Shenton are the two last player to be brought through the academy system, it's about time we manage to bring a first team player through again I think.

Not a worry Bardsley isn't as bad as a lot try and make him out to be.

Not a worry Bardsley isn't as bad as a lot try and make him out to be. Bardsley's OK, but also very injury prone. I think Hughes said that Wollscheid fell onto Johnson's knee, and this caused the damage.

Where was Bardsley today, illness as if fit he would have to have been on the bench? Bardsley was given a dead leg in training on Friday - should be fit for the Villa game - as should Cameron apparently.

I think Hughes said that Wollscheid fell onto Johnson's knee, and this caused the damage. Hughes was commenting straight after the match and recollecting what he thought he saw on just the live viewing. With the benefit of replays it's clear to see that Johnson's injury is caused by his knee either twisting while he's jumping or on landing. It had absolutely nothing to do with Wollscheid.

If Bardsley comes in we'll miss Glen's ability going forward and having a rb that can control the ball; if it's Geoff we'll miss the consistency.

Not really no. I just find it odd. That's the worry with Ryan and why I don't like how it was managed.
