I don't think it has to be about technical acting ability either. Take Jack Palance as an example. As limited a range as you might come across and no great looker but when he was on screen you couldn't take your flipping eyes off him. His dark charisma and brooding presence enhanced every single film he was in. By comparison a "terrible" actor is just an irritation that distracts you from whatever good points the film might have. John Wayne fits that criteria too Always remember an anecdote of John Wayne's level of intellect shown in The Greatest Story Ever Told a.k.a the life of Christ (not Brian) The scene: Jesus being crucified the camera pans down to Wayne, a Roman centurion. He speaks, neigh, drawls the line: "He must surely be the son of God" The director cries cut and asks Wayne to deliver the line less flat and with more awe. "What?" Cries Wayne "Awe" the English second director requests. And action..... The camera pans down to Wayne to deliver the inspired words... "Aaaaaawe he must surely be the son of God!" Have said this tale in past apologies for being a bore

I might be being a bit unfair as they're not usually professional actors; but it's amazing how many people appear as themselves on film and TV, and are totally unconvincing in the role.
Oh and if we're restricting ourselves to pros has anybody ever seen 'Anaconda'. In that Jon Voight and Angelina Jolie manage to have exactly zero chemistry and give the least realistic portrayal of father and daughter I've ever seen.

Coronation Street
The guys that play Steve Mcdonald, Dev Alahan and Kirk in the factory - Totally steal a living, wouldn't get any notable parts elsewhere
Then there's Marlon from Emmerdale. Oh dear!
But to be fair I have to say the lad that plays Aaron has redeemed the bad acting seen in the soaps almost singlehandedly this year. A brilliant performance!!

I agree!!
The kirk videos that get posted up whenever we overreact to a bad defeat are the business; they have me in stitches every time - I can imagine some folk actually reacting like that
Here's some more
0.18 secs is particularly amusing

Don't like admitting I watch Emmerdale but fuck it. That Asian lad who has just had a kid with that older vet bird,is it Kiri? He is the wankest actor I've ever seen.

Bill Nighy.. owd one face.
Not keen on John Simms, McKenzie Crook, or Simon Pegg.
Neither Omid Djalilli nor Stephen Rea have covered themselves in glory in Dickensian.
Worst for me is Brando's terrible cotton wool Godfather.

Nicolas Cage in The Wicker Man remake has to be seen to be believed. I can't believe they had the nerve to remake this classic.
