He really does offer nothing, no pace cant hold the ball up and cant get into that yard of space to get a shot off.
Same as Liverpool last week, cant fault his work rate though, but he just aint good enough for a team trying to push on into Europe.
My team for Saturday
--------------------Butland---------------
Johnson-----Wolly--------Muniesa------Pieters
-------------Imbula----Whelan---------------
Shaqiri------------Bojan--------------Arnie
-------------------Diouf--------------------
That to me = pace creativity and movement.

Crouch offers a Plan B from the bench when losing. He shouldn't be starting games.
My team for Saturday
-------------Butland------------- Johnson ----Ryan*--Wolly---Pieters -----------Whelan---Imbula-------- Shaqiri-------Affellay------Arnie ---------------Bojan---------
*I reckon Ryan will be back on Saturday.

Totally agree ref Crouch. Some argument over Imbula starting so soon. Ryan must start if he declares fit. Completely bemused ref the handling of Diouf, what could he possibly have done to be frozen out and only ever used out of position.

I'd be tempted to give Bojan a break as he looks like he needs a rest. I thought Ireland did well tonight however I'm stuck as to whether bring him in or move Afellay forward. I think because Everton have a strong midfield I'd go with the latter. I think we need to play with our strongest team and have a mobile striker who can put pressure on Stones when he has the ball. I'd go with
............Jack...........
Glen....Ryan....Muni...Eric
......Imbula.....Whelan....
Shaq.......Afellay.....Arni
............Diouf..........

The re-emergence of Crouchy just seems so random.
No idea why it's happened.
Plucked out of the deep freeze for his first league start in 9-10 months, days after his 35th birthday?
Odd

Has Crouch and Walters ever really worked? Wasn't it tried under Pulis and slated?
While I'm at it, wasn't there a point last season when Walters was starting all the time and our form dipped, then he was left out and we suddenly improved? Or is that my imagination playing tricks on me?
Anyway, the point is that we shouldn't be relying on either of them, they should be bench options and Diouf/Joselu should start.

I think we've had a couple of occasions where that's happened with Walters, he obviously has his fans but I'm fucked if I can see what tangible qualities he brings to the table nowadays, the odd flick on and running around a lot just isn't enough for me.

The failure to bring in a proper right winger is unfathomable in my opinion. I think Imbula will improve us massively, but we needed at least 2 more quality signings as well.

Depending on who is fit it has to be:
Butland
Johnson Wolly Muni Pieters
Whelan Imbula*
Shaqiri Afellay Arnautovic
Diouf
*Dependant on how match fit he is.

I would Cameron mostly aprreciate beside Imbula, but i think he is not available for Saturday

Definate starters for Saturady IMO Butland Johnson Muni ? Pieters Imbula ? Shaq ? Arnie (no other option) Diouf
Diouf definately deserves a chance as the front man, god knows if anyone will be fit to play as our other CB The other two positions will be filled by two of Whelan, Afellay & Bojan but who misses out?
