We do like to chuck these absolutely horrible performances in every now and again. And, Christ, this must be the absolute worst of the season, alongside Sunderland and West Brom. Hard to find any positives at all. Shockingly limp. Didn't lay a f*****g glove on them at any stage. Today was 10 times worse than West Brom and Sunderland, at least we were in the game at West Brom until that late goal and drawing with Sunderland until the sending off, this was easily by a country mile the worse show of the season, embarrassing!

Fucking woeful. We'd lost this long before the kickoff. How dare we throw the towel in and not even give this a go. Tactically inept yet again Tactically inept again? FFS Its Hughes Tactics that have got us to two top ten finishes and probably a third. And will he get us any higher?

Today is the cumulation of about 4 poor performances in January. West Brom, Liverpool, Doncaster, Norwich. We were poor in all of them and were lucky that Norwich had O'Neil sent off.

A poor defeat and performance to the league leaders and the idiot count is sky high again.
Dread to think what this board would have been like if we'd had the form of Palace or Watford lately.

No Shawcross, we concede 3. Perhaps there does need to be a Centre Half signed- we seem to have lost all defensive organization. Midfield has been very disappointing today. Shawcross was the real reason for our improvement in recent times. Our midfield offers no protection and gets overrun too often. This is a huge wake up call.

Fucking awful? We weren't that good it was like watching a league 2 side - fucking woeful. I'd go as far as to say its as bad as any performance from a Stoke team I've witnessed since we were promoted. Gouranga.

At the end of the day loosing to a team who could win the league isn't a bad thing, but it was just the manner of the performance, we where piss poor today, injuries don't help but I don't think the tactics and subs helped ether, o well shit day a the office and let's move on, and hope they turn up on Tuesday, and hope we get in some players in the window, we love you city

Agreed - fast/physical/high tempo teams (any or all of the above) knock us out of our stride and make us look very pedestrian and toothless. We lost the game in midfield, where only the dependable Afellay stood out. Poor team selection for me too, which shows our squad is not as strong as some suggest (although Adam and MVG should have played some part surely?).

We simply Are not a top team and when Hughes do Some rotation trying to play the same sistem with different interpreters, happen this absolutely woeful performance, when we had only 1 clean shot with Joselu Header. Can I just add before I leave this board for a few hours before the inevitable melt down... CHARLIE AUSTIN also one chance today and buried it taking home 3 points. But we don't need a natural goalscorer, we need 'strikers'who play more of a team role etc etc etc.... Apparantly. £4M he cost. We've got one in Walters according to the commentator...

How many chanches They create? How many chanches Manchester United create? Another valid point for me, is we struggling a lot with team that use rigid defensive system and press us all over the pitch. Btw is true, when we miss a key player (or even more like today), we didn't change our sistem and we try to adapt other players in the system, and some of the pld one simple are not cut for this. for me in this match, like in other ones, we had to try to play the old stoke way.

There's no hiding place We've been fucking awful. That said some of the vitriol and over reaction has been more embarrassing than the utter dog shit on the pitch. We move on and go for it Tuesday night. There's a small minority on here who clear don't like Mark Hughes(probably because they never wanted him here )and never miss a trick in sticking the boot in. Well milky, that's as contradictory a remark I've read on this thread. "That said some of the vitriol and over reaction has been more embarrassing than the utter dog shit on the pitch". Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. After all, it is a public forum.

We are just weak in the central midfield. Completely lost the battle in there too. I've thought it for a long time, it's just simply too easy to get at our centre halves. I think we need a defensive midfielder who is tough & nasty & can impose himself on the game & grab the team by the scruff of the neck if it isn't going well.
