Win by a hat-full!! Yeah right. Either side could have nicked it TBF.
Thought it pretty entertaining and even overall but the best chances fell to the wrong players on both sides.
Got to be happy with a point, given 5 starters missing and your good form.

I'm sure if I'd been watching that as a neutral, I'd have thought Stoke were a far better team than WHU.

So,now you're actually disagreeing with "the stat" that Pieters is our quickest player, just like I did, despite it being your point! Are you seriously suggesting that Diouf is our quickest player and Pieters is second or am I missing something? I've never heard anyone talk about Pieters and mention his pace. The suggestion that he's quick is absurd. I'm telling you that the stats from last season had pieters as our quickest player and the 11th quickest in the entire league. No more no less. One thing for absolute certain, he's doesn't struggle by virtue of a lack of pace. Few get the better of him in 1v1 situations. I can only recall dyer from Swansea beating him in a straight foot race. Interestingly, sagna was listed as man city's quickest player last season, and last week pieters gave him 5 yards headstart and ran past him. I don't know what stats you're referring to but if you can be arsed can you list the 10 quicker players and the 10 that were directly below him in the list.Or a few examples? I honestly find the suggestion that Pieters is quick, crazy!

Diouf is a huge credit to this football club , runs himself ragged when asked , never moans , was our top scorer last season . For whatever reason the management took him out of the firing line . Patience is the order of the day here. He is also known within the squad to be a confidence player more than most so senseless criticism just adds to the issue and slays his return to hitting the net . Who are you and what have you done with Benji?

I don't think we need today to decide Jack is an England No 1 and whilst its nice that Diouf gets in to some scoring positions it would be nice if he...scored like.

I'll dig it out when I get home and will let you know if we still have it. Stirling was ahead of Pieter's as was bolaisie. Can't remember who else as I've had a sleep since then.

If Pieters is quicker than Diouf I'm the Pope! I would have thought that too but that isn't what the article suggested. Also, maybe diouf isn't quick over a measurable distance. He couldn't catch the West ham full back today. Perhaps dioufs speed is over a few yards?

You're right, but a point isn't so bad considering their chances. I've never said it isn't although our chances were better and I thought we probably should have won. Still a decent point but it's chances and games like that if we want to go next level (which we do) then we need to take those chances. Hughes will know that. Bang on mate. You need to be clinical....and we haven't got a modest 15 goal a season man

Butland is a magnificent keeper but most of the saves he made today are the saves you expect a Premier League keeper to make. West Ham spent the whole of the first half shooting from outside the box. They weren't creating anything. 2nd half they were better but how many clear-cut opportunities did they create? Not more than two. In fact I would argue that the 2 best saves of the game both came from Adrian. Draw is a fair result though. So I would say -
Butland - 8 (Good performance )
Johnson - 8 (Brilliant in defence, good attacking outlet) Ryan - 8 (Captain fantastic. He made a few mistakes but redeemed himself with a commanding defensive performance. The most important player in our team) Wolly - 8 (Another great performance from him. Really proud of the player he has become) Eric - 7 (Was careless in possession but he defended well against a lethal Antonio)
Whelan - 7 (He was more adventurous today & looked tireless as always) Cameron - 7 (Good performance. Dominated the midfield in the first half, unlucky to go off injured) MVG - 5 (Didn't even realise that he on the pitch in the second half)
Afellay - 7 (First Half he was probably our best player going forward. Looked tired in the 2nd half) Arnie - 6 (Couldn't influence the game. Was marked well by Tompkins. Should've done better with first half chance)
Bojan - 7 (When Bojan plays well, Stoke play well. When he doesn't, we don't seem to create much. He had flashes of brilliance but he gave the ball away far too often and was unable to link attack & defence in the 2nd half. But I think he was ineffective in the false 9 position today because he was bullied off the ball. Slaven Bilic did his homework on us)
Subs -
Diouf - 6 (Should've won us the game. Needs to be cooler in front of goal) SJW - 5 (Wasted a brilliant through ball by Arnie. Was completely anonymous otherwise) Adam - 5 (Didn't have an impact on the game)
I'm actually quite satisfied with the performance. We weren't at our best but we still arguably had the best chances in the game. Good point away from home. Hopefully we can win next week against an in form Crystal Palace.

Mame is our quickest recorded player this season and the 6th fastest in the whole league (iirc).

What a difference 7 days and two goals make. Let's face it, it could have been a tennis score. Whoever above said Arnie is a poor finisher is an idiot (I didn't check, but I've a sneaking suspicion who it was) - finished pretty damn well last week.

No reason he won't get 15 if we keep firing in those low crosses to the near post.

It was a battle of the midfield in the 1st 3/4, which we did well in. I know footie isn't neccessarily about entertainment. But Were you not entertained!?! I am satisfied with an away point against a mid-table rival. However, I wasn't especially entertained - we need more goals. 3-3 would have been a lot more entertaining - personal preference I suppose.

That will determine if he's quick or not.
