Loads of stuff to be glass hafe full about. Nice to hear that Ireland and Muniesa had a run out with the youth. Hopefully designed to accelerate progression of the next phase.
And a point away is ok.

I've never really doubted Wollscheid(his nightmare v S'land apart). He got shoved in for his debut away to Arsenal despite not knowing any of the players and performed admirably. For some reason he got blamed for the dismal showing in the cup versus Blackburn(despite Muniesa playing as badly and getting away scot free from abuse)but Hughes got it badly wrong that day. Pieters, for me,is the player of the season so far.I thought we needed a left back more than a right back in the summer but he's been immense. His lack of pace will always leave him susceptible to a pacy right winger but his improvement this season has certainly proved me wrong. "lack of pace"? He was the quickest player in our team last season and the 11th quickest in the premier league according to the final "shoot magazine" of last seaon. 1v1 pieters rarely gets beat. He held up 4 of them on 1 west ham breakaway today.

There's a big difference between a striker and a natural goalscorer..about £25 million difference. And even if we had that sort of money could we attract someone like that to Stoke? So if not Diouf..Who? Expecting Diouf to convert every chance is like expecting a one-legged man to continuously win every arse kicking contest he enters. Unrealistic. All I know is when I see him with a chance to make a difference I close my eyes. Thankyou Diouf you cost me £ss again. We really need a top goal scorer, to be fair to mark he's not a first choice anyway. Put it this way if we tried to sell him I bet know one in the premiership would give a monkeys to buy him.

It's not though is it? We're the lowest scorers in the league. Have you learned nothing from March? Goals don't matter. Perfect game today. A genuine classic!

Yeah i'm sure a race between Pieters,Diouf and Shaqiri would be close. In fact I'm struggling to think of many Stoke players Pieters would beat in a race.

The easiest chance was the one MVG missed when he chickened out of a challenge.
He should have put ball, goalkeeper and himself into the back of the net.

In the past I think you could have accused us of only having one formation and one system but today saw Hughes mix it up and change it about from the 4-3-3 to the 4-2-3-1 which worked well enough.
The more strings we have to our bow the better.

I can see a £20M bid coming in for Jack this summeer and I really can't see us saying no if he wants to go. As said it will be up to him, but unless we get a place in Europe what are our chances of keeping him? I'm not so sure this talk about Hart being miles ahead of him is right either as I think Jack has been the best in the league so far! I guess money will talk in the end.

Has our Nige been on the bravery pills? Funny isn't it... I remember most of our managers getting the odd uncomfortable question from Radio Stoke. All apart from one that is. On a completely unrelated topic, was that John Acres I saw briefly on BBC breakfast this morning engaging in some absolutely Partridge-esque banter about Gammon or was it just some hideous dream.

Said it before, and I'll say it again....... Wolly gets more and more like Bouldy with every game! Quality that German lad, quality. A bit like Bluto too. Cleans up a lot that Ryan can't, just like Bluto with Denis Smith. Formidable pairing Bluto/Smith, Ryan/Wolly.

Billic as an opposition manager he really impresses me with his attitude. Never makes lame excuses like the majority. He makes a refreshing change.

I'd have settled for a draw before kick off. Wetsham are no mug side, their position in the league tells you that. We played a good game, could/should have scored a couple of goals but they had their chances too. Point away not to be sniffed at. At least, we go way to win now, even if we don't always get what we deserve to get.

Seems like a good bloke in it for his club and not concerned about the other teams or media. Wish him luck in his stint there. Sure has a good side to build on.

Are you seriously suggesting that Diouf is our quickest player and Pieters is second or am I missing something? I've never heard anyone talk about Pieters and mention his pace. The suggestion that he's quick is absurd.

Jack - 8 Some good saves but not his busiest day Ryan - 6 OK. But he's played better Wooly - 8.5 Excellent game. Eric - 7 Solid Johnson - 8 Really impressed me again. Glenn - 7 Decent but Geoff was better. Cameron - 8 Looks like a real find for DM MVG - 6 Did OK but should have done better with his 2 chances. Afellay - 7 Started really well but faded. Arnie - 7 Played better. Some good some bad. Bojan - 7 Same as Arnie.
Adam - 5 Poor. Looked a liability when he came on. Diouf - 6 Lively but should have buried the chances. SJW - 5 Inafective

One thing for absolute certain, he's doesn't struggle by virtue of a lack of pace. Few get the better of him in 1v1 situations. I can only recall dyer from Swansea beating him in a straight foot race. Interestingly, sagna was listed as man city's quickest player last season, and last week pieters gave him 5 yards headstart and ran past him.

Diouf is a huge credit to this football club , runs himself ragged when asked , never moans , was our top scorer last season . For whatever reason the management took him out of the firing line . Patience is the order of the day here.
He is also known within the squad to be a confidence player more than most so senseless criticism just adds to the issue and slays his return to hitting the net .
