I think it's the best possible result , crystal palace will be closer to us come May and we will now take them seriously on Saturday , We've had a good look at them tonight , we will have too much at both ends of the field , confident ! Hope palace will be miles behind us come May ...

Easy as that Nice seeing a Sunderland team who can defend for once Deserved it mate... I missed the match mate, was out tonight so will watch the recorded 90 mins to see how we did You lot will be a more difficult test, you have a better defence than Palace, it all depends how we deal with your attack and see if we can catch Butland on a (very rare) bad day

Playing with 3 centre halfs you need a player who can play 'between the lines' to unlock them Bojan fits that role like a glove Afellay could as well... He'd have those back three tripping over themselves... He need to be creative and skillful to unlock those buffoons. O'Shea, Brown et al are yesterday's men, our boys will prove it on satdee

Heard Watmore done well when he came on, pleased he's signed a 4 year deal earlier

Arnie and Shaq are very different players to how Zaha and Bolasie were today. Especially Arnie, he likes to take a man on, get it out his feet and then get the ball in. What I saw today from the Palace wingers were a couple of show pony's who were constantly trying to get the ball on to a different foot, and show everyone their skills. Beat them for pace and get the ball in the box. They also didn't have any real CF threat to unlock or work off of either, they looked confused when they got cornered by Sunderland. Shaq and Arnie need to create one-twos with the CF versus a system like that. Similar to us vs Watford in that regards. They are at home so they will have to come at us. Catching them on the break is something we should be nailing.

Especially if a rested Diouf is unleashed...

Awful game with a Pulisesque victory for Sunderland. Once you look beyond Bolasie, Cabaye and Zaha Palace are very ordinary. Without tempting fate were better than both these sides.

Regardless of where Sunderland are in the league, a win for us would be a terrific result. It will give us 5 wins and a draw from our last 6 away (including the Fulham cup game). When is the last time we could say that?

Shouldn't go wide everytime either they'll be looking for that with two wingbacks on either side like tonight aswell.

That left back for Palace is absolute wank. Mate he is completely gash all he's got is bucket loads of pace but other than that he looks Sunday league. Not unlike Bolasie and Zaha for the vast majority of the time although they do have more ability than Soare. Still very frustrating players. They fannied about all game doing step-overs and shit like that but with absolutely no end product. In fact it was Bolasie fucking about in midfield who gave the ball away for the breakaway for the goal.

I am usually a very pessimistic supporter and in the past I would always expect us to get feck all from a trip to SOL. But having seen the form we are in and watched the Palace game tonight I think we have a great chance of 3 points. Both Sunderland and Palace looked very average at best.

Need to get our shooting boots on Satdee and make that big bastard Pantilimon earn his doh. Our front men should tear them a new arsehole, I wouldn't pay their defence in washers.
About time we give them a tonking instead of the usual piss poor timid performance we normally do.

Sunderland wen 8-1-1 tonight according to the BBC, team on the right below. Must admit it's not often you see Palace dominate the possession they normally like to sit tight and hit you on the break with Zaha and Bolasie. I can't see Sunderland sitting quite so tight at home against us next week, surely the natives will want to see them pushing on a bit more than that and in truth we could probably do with them pressing a bit or it will be difficult to get in behind them.

Heard Watmore done well when he came on, pleased he's signed a 4 year deal earlier I watched him for the England U21's a couple of weeks ago, he came on with 20 minutes to go when they were 1-0 down, he scored 1 and assisted with the other 2 in a 3-1 win, looks to be a good talent for the future.
