Funny how hundreds (thousands?) of cities, towns and villages across the country get it right, year in and year out. And so did we. The announcer got it wrong. Thats all. Nothing to see here, Knicker wetters making a mountain out of a molehill, move along. Thought it worked OK in the end

Perhaps the ref should have just not blown his whistle after the last post.. waited a minute and then blown. Blowing straight after (presumably to signal the start of the minute) meant people thought it was over. Players and fans alike... happened at the televised games too!
Oh well, the respect and remembrance was there for all to see and hear.

The respect shown by all fans inside the ground was impeccable.
As I've already said, the only thing that pissed me off and was completely out of order was the Stoke photographer who was wondering around for the entire minute, picking bags up and putting them down again a few metres away. What made it worse was that it was right in the middle of where the serviceman was playing the bugler, so the cameras and wider tv audience must have picked up on it.
Is it too much to ask to just stand still for a fu**ing minute and pay your respects? Almost 28,000 fans, both sets of supporters and players, the officials and both management teams all paid their respects as one daft cunt wondered around aimlessly like a complete ring piece.
Still pissed off about it now.
