You're fucking shit you're fucking shit you're fucking shit you're fucking shit you're fucking shit Thanks for that Will, can't say I agree with it but we are all entitled to an opinion and I am sure yours is well thought out and took a while for you to articulate it so succinctly. Unfortunately there are no restrictions on internet access for the care in the community projects mate. You just have to ignore the likes of Will. H

I like to look at the simple statistics that various sites show as I feel they do give an overall representation of which side was dominant in the game. One stat from last night's game shows "Total Passes" = 617 but "Accurate Passes" = 87. I assume if a pass is not "Accurate" then it must be "inaccurate"? How on earth can we make 530 "inaccurate passes"???? Cue vision of Wolly make a clearance header into the stands as being counted as a "pass". Hmmm, was that "accurate" or "inaccurate"? After all it only hit row W and he was clearly aiming for row Z

I know they constantly repeated the same song but what a good song it was. Incidently what were they singing when they were bouncing up and down, it sounded something like "fucking a mouse" your a blade your a blade if you dont fucking bounce your a blade I knew i heard it wrong .... I thought it was " your a twat - your a twat - if you do fucking bounce your a twat " Serious note though --- Good effort from them to sell tickets for the whole end I am sure the air will be crackling a bit more on Saturday ... Hope all the fuss over Raheem hasn't died down ? Still think dicks like him are ruining the game Apart from him being a big player on the diving cheating twats club which alone would signal him out for a bit of special for me ... Lets give Mr Sterling the full " Danny Rose "

Tremendous support from the Sheffield Wednesday fans...as you would expect.Always bought one of the biggest and most vociferous followings in our Championship days.
Had the team been half as good as their fans we would have been in severe trouble.
Let's hope Wednesday get promoted because their supporters deserve it.

Good turn out from Wednesday last night, got behind their side, and gave it a go.
Re the Sheffield clubs, do they each draw their support from all parts of Sheffield or are there United areas and Wednesday areas of the city?

Spot on Muttley, they were poor tonight. I thought that their fans were excellent though. Except for the big fat bald fucker in the front row. He was just wrong.

Our passing was mostly good last night. I've not seen that stat but it looks like it might be 87% not 87. What was the same set of stats for the Owls like?

Hmm, possibly, Owls had 320 and 79. But right above it is "Possession %". Strange they use the terminology "Accurate Passes" and "Total Passes" instead of "Pass Accuracy %" or some such thing!

Only for about 15/20 mins though. For most of the first half and the end of the 2nd they were as quiet as us. Up until our second goal they were the most vocal I've heard for ages,I was sat in the Q Railings block 16 and they were loud as fuck at times. We were in block 28 and they were as loud as fuck. And the support was constant until the 2nd goal went in..even after that they were louder than us. We couldn't even get Delilah right..block 19/20 out of sync with 24/25 and the Wenger song was very silly. I think Stoke fans have now got the Premiership Mindset..only make an effort if it's a top team. Where's Our Famous Atmosphere?

Pwingy9, I have been politely treated on your board and always treat fellow fans with respect so I wont rise to posters like Will, thanks. Tak no notice fella. You've done really well in this competition and look to be a rapidly improving set up in The Championship. Whilst Wednesday are a pretty well respected club by all that I ever have dealings with, you've all done yourselves no harm at all where Stoke fans are concerned and the support for your club last night was, as ever, fantastic. We get a constant stream of other clubs fans on here trying to tell us what MASSIVE clubs they support and how they are where they are by default. We've had none of that with your lot, despite the fact that we all know your club is (at heart) a very big club with a proud history. Your Club and it's fans have conducted themselves admirably and I really do wish you all the very best.

Morning Stokies, First of all, congratulations absolutely thoroughly deserved your win. In terms of the game, I thought it was men against boys, the one thing we have done all season is press the opposition affording them as little time to settle and in my opinion this is the something every lower league team needs to superior opposition. Tonight we looked very poor all over the park. At the back we seemed to panic and we certainly missed the creativity of Forestieri and the energy of Bannan. Hooper looks well off the pace up front and I think your defence simply ‘dealt’ with any threat carried by Joao. You will see from my previous posts that I travel to most games home (given) and away but last night was on a par with the performance at Charlton which I kindly put down to tiredness but having only played two games after the international break I can’t blame that on last night. We didn’t expect to win, I knew you guys would be a totally different proposition to Newcastle and Arsenal, given the stage of the competition and relative priorities, but what I did expect was for the lads to leave nothing on the pitch, give it 100%, close down, press high up the pitch, defend from the front and try and make the most of any chance that comes as a result of that, we didn’t. So, I don’t think based on that performance that any team will have had an easier more comfortable ride into the semi-finals of any cup competition than last night, but you can only beat what’s in front of you and as I have said without a doubt Stoke 110% deserved the result. Atmosphere, thought the whole place was flat if I am totally honest, our backing is usually a lot better than that but as a group of fans you kind of know the way your team is playing and it just didn’t spark us into any realistic hope and therefore resultant backing. I have to say (don’t get too upset) I thought your vocal support was even worse, even at 2-0 it was dead and I have to confess I am surprised, but I am sure you like us are better away than at home. A couple of additional items, we got put in a pub about 8 miles from the ground it was a Holiday Inn (or Premier Inn) with a pub next to it, the police escort was a joke made us wait there for 20 minutes before KO and then we just got shafted in traffic, ended up bailing out of the minibus on the duel-carriageway and climbing a banking up to path that went under and underpass of some sorts, this was a nightmare because somewhere along there my ticket dropped out of my pocket, anyway all other lads had gone in so what else could I do but retrace my steps…. And there it was laying on the path being trodden on by people ha ha anyway (this made me feel it was my night, it wasnt). Walking back with ticket safely tucked away just as you get to the corner that is facing you (sure you guys know where I mean) a fight broke out, I am pretty sure these where Wednesday fans having a go (did anyone else see what sparked this), surprised me to be honest, I had a last smoke and went in, the rest is history. Anyway, good luck my new found Stokie friends, I wish you all the best for the season (unless we meet again in FA Cup) and look forward to seeing you lift the cup…. Up The Owls! Tony A nice summary Tony. I wish I could berate you for your comments on our atmosphere but unfortunately you are spot on! The away atmospheres are still good but it's rare to get a good home one now. Hopefully the semi-final will be one of those rare occurrences... If Wednesday had been playing at home to a team from a league lower, the atmosphere from the home fans would have been exactly the same...Thats football ..always has been. It didn't mask the disappointment on the way home, there are ways of losing games..even to higher league opposition, the way Wednesday went about it, is not one of my favourite ways of doing it. Its easy to fall back on the old adage of..Well.."we can concentrate on the league" but thats cold comfort after being beaten easily in what was Wednesdays biggest game for a long time. I was also at Blackburn Saturday, Wednesday showed more fight in that game than we did last night..We showed nowt last night bar the supporters being able to put on a show. Thats been the story for nigh on 2 decades at Hillsborough...and although the plaudits for the fans gives me a warm feeling, sometimes the failure of the team to live up to it simply gets on me t*ts. Last night I thought Wednesday, once again, failed to live up to it, believe me, I'm not saying I expected us to win, but I thought the team would at least have a real go...they didn't. Wednesday have averaged 23'000 in the third division...watching abject crap..All hail the fans...nigh on 40'000 at home to Wycombe to watch 'em climb outta the sh*tehole..all hail the fans...Its tat... Cos in todays football the fans are peripheral...gimme 10'000 and win summatt FFS! Theres a limit to the bouncing up and down you can do..and theres a limit to how many times you can smile in adversity and accept the pats on the back for being a loyal idiot. This is the best team Wednesday have had for a fair few years...Last night didn't show it, but Owls fans know it. I can't see us going up this year, but I can see the signs that we are slowly getting there.. Like someone once said..."I can cope with despair..Its the hope that gets you"..Last night was a prime example

That pass of ours (can't quite remember who it was) last night which crossed the whole width of the field and went straight out was fucking hilarious. (And infuriating obvs) That was from our Eric. There was a five minute collective brainstorm when Wollscheid then Afellay, Wilson and then culminating in the wreckless Eric swing, players who had looked pretty decent overall seemed intent on giving summat away. There were loads of fantastic passing moves though, when the Ole was going up we were knocking it about like a dream. The Cameron cross field gem to Joselu was mint. Afellay was great at recycling it and keeping it in their half and Van threaded some pearlers through. Good stuff.

(And infuriating obvs) I thought the one that had Wilson racing unsuccessfully across the pitch was from Arnie. Overall I thought our passing was much crisper last night. More like the passing we were doing in Hughes first season here.

I'm fine with little coverage and it tends to work in our favour footballing wise. Nobody bigs us up and we get another 'unexpected' result. Let's stay under the radar, it's worked ok so far...

The Wednesday fans who posted on here seem a decent bunch and I felt a bit sorry for the way their team let them down last night.
Not too sorry, mind.
As somebody else has said, it was men against boys and it shows how far we've come as a club when we can put out a scratch team who totally dominated the game.

Accurate passes, wayward passes, throw ins, free kicks, possession etc, who cares ?
The only stat that counts is the full time score.

we were in the west stand block ten by the tunnel, its like a grandads party in there.just thought tonight we be more vocal but to be fair it was a shit one sided game i guess. I blame the ticket office. Surely it wouldn't be so hard to make sure that OAPs are not allowed to sit together. They should be dispersed evenly around the stadium where they won't be noticed (so much). never said it was the oaps, and was not picking on them neither.i was on about the whole ground support it was tosh.

I'm surprised that McGugan is not getting games. He's a class player who scores spectacular goals, especially from free kicks. I think he would be much more suited to The Prem. though, and I am surprised nobody has given him a try.

Not great to watch, which was one reason the crowd was so quiet, but effective in denying Wednesday the ball and preventing them from developing any meaningful impetus.
