Yes but Stoke do this...lose the games you expect to win, they gain points where you think they'll fail!! I would love a win after the highs of the mid week cup game! Watford completely ruined my weekend, so this is our chance to get back on track points wise, but I think they're going to be up for this too...if our lads are on it though we could take all 3 pts. Unfortunately we are at that stage of the season where you're not really sure which team are going to show up, or if we can string together 2 good halves of footy!

Really looking forward to this! Got family in north east so whilst all games mean a lot to me, this means even more! Heading into the toon about 10.30, so should be there bout 11.30. I think Arnie and Bojan to score in a close 1-2 win for the mighty potters! Goaaaaaaarn Stoke ????

American supporter here trying to pass out after a gig playing drums (as Mitch Mitchell in The Jimi Hendrix Experience for a Halloween cover show). Scared I'll snooze right through my alarms.
So if I don't see you here later this morning, go arn Stoke!!!

You should never EXPECT to win against anyone in this league. The only thing you should be able to expect is your players give their all every time they pull the shirt on. Even after a loss we should be able to say that the lads gave their best for us. Unfortunately that isn't always the case. I never predict a Stoke win, just celebrate if and when it happens. A point would be good today, I just hope the Stoke charity wagon doesn't roll into town, roll over and let them tickle our bellies. H

Newcastle will be full on for this one. Last weeks fiasco means we desperately need something out of the fixture but it's going to be very tough ( there again I thought that about Swansea). I fear it could be one of those games where the ref plays a full and active roll in turning us over.

They are there for the taking but we never take the sides who are, we end up getting well beaten. Lets have a good win today and not do a Norwich or make them look much better than they are.

Would take a point if one was offered now.
Will be a very difficult game.
If they play like they did against Norwich it will be difficult to stop them.

Not been mentioned much but can see him starting. After Swansea I think Hughes might see him as perfect for away games & he was rested on Tuesday?

I think he'll start...if every other senior player we've got is injured. Even then I'd think twice.

Are Walters and Diouf out? IF not, I'd play one of them.

I think Walters and Shaqiri will start with Diouf on the bench - they won't want to give Diouf more than 30 minutes given his exertions on Tuesday after minimal training for two weeks.

Huge huge game given the fixtures up to January . Fancy a bit of a surprise in the selection caused by injuries and freshening don't rule out Joselu and van ginkel
All being well we could field shawcross and Cameron and diof and Walters In the same team next week which will give us much more physicality a real shame it coincides with a nightmare run of games
Hoping for a lot expecting nothing today friend Mr C pulls us back to the red line .

It is a bit early to give up on him yet, he may prove to be a great signing. A goal and a bit of confidence may help. At this moment in time i think he needs fans support and not abuse.

Shaq Bojan Arnie & Super Jon to start if fit with Diouf coming off the bench to give a counter attacking option late on.

Just had a walk around the ground. Now sitting in a pub behind the gallowgate. Excellent footy memorabilia shop opposite. I'd recommend this place. The Newcastle pub just inside Chinatown. It is a fantastic stadium. They are possibly one of the biggest clubs in Europe potentially. It is great to be here on an even keel with them.
