He was watching two Spanish players, Koke and Isco apparently.
Nothing to see here.

No chance of us getting him anyway now. Can leave on a free, and a host of clubs will be after him.

Wouldn't of mind having him this summer just gone, but now we just don't need him. Arnie and Shaqiri are probably both better when both on top form

Arnie and Shaqiri are probably both better when both on top form I don't agree. Arnie is certainly getting there creatively and is scoring more than he has done in the past. But neither Arnie nor Shaqiri have ever come close to Yarmolenko as a natural goal scorer who can also create chances for others and take superb free kicks. Yarmo is different class to any player we have ever been seriously linked with since we reached the Prem. How close we came to getting him is difficult to say because, in the past, the other clubs interested in him have also come up against the problems with his club owners.

I was surprised that his right foot is only for standing on considering how much he is valued, last night against Spain with Ukraine losing 1-0 a ball was dropping nicely just outside the six yard box screaming to be hit first time, Yarmo controls on his left foot and plays a square ball instead of trying the volley with his right foot!!!
couldn't believe what I saw last night

(Says the hopelessly one footed ex left midfielder.)

He was absolutely brilliant against Spain last night, and totally ripped Azpilicueta to pieces.
Way out of our reach now, unfortunately

I hope our club management don't give up as easily as some of the posters on here appear to and keep after the guy if he is as good as Lakeland says.
I'm sure they will have already prepared the ground to try and persuade the Kiev owner to cash in in January. The difficult part is making Stoke look an attractive proposition and a better prospect than sitting on the bench at one of Europe's (incl. Prem.) top clubs.
Please note, the better Arni performs, the more likely we are to lose him to a top club.

So then (the same question as I asked in the summer).
How do you fit him, Shaqiri, Arnie and Bojan in the same team unless it involves Bojan up top which Hughes so far has shown no interest in?

My best answer I can think of is these guys (including Moses last season) seem so suspect to muscle problems etc. that you need plenty of cover for injuries, give them rests, and use them as impact players.

You don't, you should of bought him instead of Shaq. I think he's better suited to our game but we'll see with Shaqiri. Hopefully he'll produce for us. The rub is that we still have a lot to learn when trying to sign these types of players.

Unless we reach Europe every season and even then it's a massive ask to keep all of that lot happy.

Yarmo can play as a striker - he's a big lad. But, one of our weak points at the moment is that we only have two specialist wide players - I (and a whole lot of others) have always said we need three. Yarmo would do nicely as he is different in style to Arnie and Shaq. I suspect he is out of our reach as he nears the end of his contract but I'd be over the moon if we did get him.

He's a winger though predominantly and we'd be stupid not to play him there. I'd go with that but we've got Walters, Afellay (who was bought for the wing) and Odemwingie all either with a contract or with one on the table (Walters). Now Walters and Wingie will probably leave this summer but even still 3 wingers of the quality of Arnie, Shaq and Yarmo aren't going to be happy with rotation. Especially at little old Stoke.
