Geoff played well in midfield didn't he. Got about the pitch and rarely gave the ball away.
Capped an excellent display with a fine penalty

When Ryan is back he should definitely be moved into midfield. I'd like to do it now but I'm too shit scared of Wolly or Wilson playing.

I was so impressed with Geoff today. He's a versatile player and looked hungry, wouldn't hurt to give him a shot in midfield when Ryan is back.

I think it's likely to be his best position for us.
I would want better to be starting in that position mind.

Think Cameron, with walters, deserves a start most weeks. Two good, stolid grafters not without skill.Hard luck on them both that we seem to be bringing in some players with real flair, but sometimes, good old fashioned grit is as good as anything else in the Prem. Stoke MUST offer Walters another couple of years on his contract. The lad plays his heart out for Stoke, and is a real example of a team layer.

If we don't sign anyone then I'd stick him in the middle in those games where we need to stiffen it up (away from home etc)

One of the very few plus' tonight was Geoff. Looked like he actually cared. Along with SJW our best player on the night.

I think he looked very composed and at home in that position. I have to say that Wilson also looked good back in defence. I'd be happy to have him back there and give Cameron the opportunity to have his midfield role.

One of the few positives from this game. Thought he played well! Constantly talking to the back four, calm in possession and going forward when he has the chance. I'd definitely move him into midfield instead of Van Ginkel, he proved at the World Cup he can play there. Sign a new centre half (I think Lescott would be ideal) and move Geoff into midfield. After today's performance, I'd never trust Wollschied again in a Prem game, Wilson was steady but unspectacular.

I think he looked like a bloke that could be bothered against a league 2 team in a sea of those that couldn't, nothing more.
