If you don't evolve you get left behind.
All 3 of those have been great players for Stoke, but life moves on. Who was worried when Kavanagh, Thorne, Fuller, Lawrence etc left?
No need to panic

Contemptible commercial management to consciously put rhe future at such risk .
We need a CEO who sees his role as to support the manager not check and balance with the bank .
Hughes has been dreadfully exposed this summer and that superb analysis is the fact which illustrates it most

So .... it's the CEO's fault that 1) Zonzi and Bego wouldn't sign new contracts 2) Shawcross' back was worse that the doctor thought

At this point we have gone from the solidness of an oak tree to the spine of a door mouse
Rodgers must be rubbing his hands for Sunday with Couhtino against Johnson and Benteke out strengthening Wollscheid and out jumping Muniesa. I can see us getting spanked on Sunday but it might actually be a blessing in disguise and the wake up call needed.
Two big signings or lack of signings in defensive mid and centre half before the window shuts could make or break our season in my opinion.

It's alright, I've been told on here at various times this week that Van Ginkel is better than N'Zonzi in every facet of the game. We wont miss Begovic at all and best of all......we have to move on from Huth AND Shawcross! Everything will be OK I think

The good thing about march is he freshens up his old material with some belting new punchlines every season.

Sheik Be interesting to see if your being told the same by the WBA game I expect us to muddle through results wise Benjamin. We still have a lot of Premier League nous in the side. One place we're certainly not heading is towards any sort of next level or progress.

I've got no problems with his ability, you don't play where he has and for that national side at his age without supreme talent. Is he the N'Zonzi replacement though. I've yet to hear a convincing argument he is and he didn't look like it in pre season.

Maybe the blend of the new combination means we wanted a player who offers us something a bit different.

I'm predicting our possession stats will suffer without N'Zonzi though and a weakened defence will be asked more searching questions more often.

I just worry that Nzonzi has been so important to how we play under Hughes that we might really miss someone with that same drive in the middle of the park. Sidwell is probably the closest we've got to that (and is a decent player to be fair). It might be fine but if we had a late splurge on, say, Dembele I'd be breathing a lot easier.

What about the defence Rob? There was a spell in the 2nd half in the Brentford game where they launched a few corners in quick succession in to our box and we looked 'powder-puff' to me in dealing with them, or not dealing with them I should say, one of them led directly to the 2nd Brentford goal.

I've picked mine and it's a bit short of raw pace for an all out attacking strategy!
