Tomorrow we come up against what is effectively the Singaporean national side. Last month they held Japan to a 0-0 draw but were comprehensively beaten by Arsenal on Wednesday.
I think it's a bit more exciting to see us play this lot rather than Arsenal, and we're probably less likely to come off the pitch with any injuries.
So, what team will we see?
Butland
Johnson Wollscheid Muniesa Wilson
Whelan Adam Van Ginkel
Arnautovic Walters Diouf
I'm guessing that at least one of Wollscheid/Shawcross will be available to play. I'd expect us to make the allotted six substitutions for this one, with Given being one of those. It would be nice to see Moha put the shirt on too.
Prediction: Stoke City 2-0 Singapore Select XI.
I'm looking forward to seeing some of you tomorrow.

It would be nice to put 5 past them just to make a statement that we are better than The Arse.

I have been reading the Singapore Straits Times the last few days. Yesterday was all about Arsenal. Today, three d9fferejt stories on the back page all about Everton.Inside back page all about the Arse. There was a piece on a forum held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel about how to increase market share as a football club. The article was all about Arsenal's point of view. The last line said "representatives from Everton,Stoke City and the EPL also attended". So far I have not seen one article exclusively about Stoke. We are very much the ugliest of the Ugly Sisters as far as the Singapore media is concerned.

That's a shame tuum, but not a surprise. Perhaps tomorrow is Stoke's big day in the paper? I doubt it. Have you seen (m)any locals wearing the red and white stripes?

Good effort Franklin. We need more missionaries spreading the word...converting the locals away from glory hunting is a tough task.

We will learn in the future, these things take time I guess. We should be maximizing exposure of our famous players (Crouch) and be playing up the ex Barcelona angle, Hughes, Bojan, Muni, that new kid twiggie. Just my two pence.

This Shawcross thing is a real worry.
Wouldn't be shocked at all to see us buy a centre-half

It was the same on the BBC breakfast sports report, Arsenal, Wenger, then showed a couple of their goals, and to add insult, the line was ' they are one of 3 PL teams taking part' the little ferret faced fooker couldn't even state ours and Everton's names !

I didn't mention Scholes, I don't know what areas of the club he is directly involved with on a day to day basis, I said we should up our game when it comes to presenting the clubs image. Yeah it will take time, hopefully not decades. I agree that Everton and Arsenal are more well known clubs than ours and got to there by being successful. But now we are there abouts with Everton in terms of level now, we need to step up or game in promoting the club through PR.
