so its farewell to the berlin wall himself,Robert Huth. To say I'm gutted about this is an understatement. Bob is not only a brilliant defender but gave his all to Stoke and did so with a wonderful sense of humour. I will continue to follow the man on twitter and as ever trust Sparky's call . The gaffer walks on water for the impact he's had at Stoke so I respect its time for Robert to move on in his eyes. In my eyes its goodbye to a City great and my personal favourite player of the last few years. He's the best in the land.............

Fact is Muni is the better player and him and Ryan are a quality partnership, yes they won't probably be fit for all 38 games and then Huth is better than Wolly and Wilson, but Huth wouldn't want to be sitting on the bench for the majority of games, when he can play 35+ games somewhere else. And when Muni is injured for half the season we can now look forward to Wilson or Wolfshit oh good, hope this has not pissed Ryan off too much he must be scratching his head wondering why.

I want to cry a little bit. The bloke has been an absolute machine for us and I don't think any Stoke fan will have a bad word to say about him. He was great to watch and brilliant to have when the going was tough, which was most of the time.
One of my all time favourite Stoke players and it is sad to see him go but he's earned himself a move to Leicester by being an animal there.
All the best Huthy lad.

I wasn't going to respond but seeing as though deputy dog has chirped in, I can't resist.
We had this misty-eyed, unfounded, doom mongering made up bullshit 2 years ago. It doesn't go unnoticed that it was mostly the same ones spouting the end of the world then as it is now
We didn't implode, we are still here and we HAVE improved remarkably, Even in defence somehow ???

All the best Mr Huth. A top defender and a top bloke, always welcome back in Stoke. I'm gutted he's gone, but the deal sounds like a decent piece of business, and is probably good for Robert too. Definitely goes down in my book as a Stoke legend.

Has made a fantastic contribution to Stoke , not sure why Hughes has let him go given how well he did for Leicester , he now has to develop the replacements to be as good , they certainly are not just yet but it's his call as manager and like all managers he will be judged on results , which he has got so far and improved how we play

Huthy to Walters on Twitter - "Yep sadly we'll never hear those commentators words again: 'long ball forward from Huth, finds Walters who shoots... Throw in" They might be heard again if Walters goes to Leicester. I think there may be a clearing out of the laddish culture from the dressing room. Hence no new contract SJW.

100% agree. Huth has hardly played for Hughes and when he has, he's either been carry an injury or recovering from one. This thing about him not suiting the style is just a load of bollocks. Letting him go is a major mistake. Replacing him with woolsheid is an even bigger one. Top post that mate No doubt Huth has been a fabulous asset to the club and worth every penny we paid for him and lots more. Instrumental on the field in getting the club to where it is today but all good things do run their course. A good move for Huth and the club has got back the bulk of what they paid for him in the first place at 31! He hasn't played for us for the best part of a season and a half and last season we conceded as few goals as we ever had in the Prem and done it whilst trying to score goals and finished ninth. It was inevitable under the circumstances that he would move on and he has the good move he deserves by remaining in the Prem. Everyone is a winner.

Truly a fans favourite. His FA cup goals against Wolves and Bolton, him and Ryan double teaming against Hunt, his tweets, (not) stamping on the teething Chipmunk Suarez, being wrongly sent off by Twatkinson. In the good times and even in the bad, everything he did just endeared him to Stokies even more. He manifested be loyal be proud be Stoke and when nobody liked us, who cares, coz the Berlin Wall would have the lot of em. Thanks for the memories big man, I would like to thank you, wish you well and shake your hand........but I would probably end up with all number of fractures

Fantastic servant to the club , but he just does not fit in with the way that Hughes, thankfully, wants to play. I also disagree that Wollschied is an inferior replacement , much better footballer than Huth. In what sense? I think most like to see defenders who can defend, first and foremost. Wollscheid is diabolical.

This is massively overplayed in my view. Why would you ever want to 'move on' from tough as teak, heart on sleeve defending, with a burning desire to win your personal one on one battles and an equal desire to help your mates, if they're not winning there's. Are we really saying that a player schooled at Chelsea and in the German youth set up can't handle a ball from the goalkeeper and pass it to a team mate? 100% agree. Huth has hardly played for Hughes and when he has, he's either been carry an injury or recovering from one. This thing about him not suiting the style is just a load of bollocks. Letting him go is a major mistake. Replacing him with woolsheid is an even bigger one. Hughes disagrees, whatever hes seen he wasn't impressed, he knows more than us about football management, lets just see what happens.

Sad to see the big man go, particularly in circumstances like this (i.e. not being farewelled properly by all you fans at the Brit)
He's been a tremendous asset for the Club, and I wish him all the best in the future

It's not goodbye, it's "Auf Wiedersehen" to the big German; We'll see him again when Leicester comes to Stoke early in the new season, and he should get a rousing welcome (before we bet them four nil).
All the best, and thanks for everything!
