Could do with more wacky posts and threads a'la erasurebot. I used to come on the oatcake 10 years ago as much for some surreal comedy as stokie news.
Now I fear we all became a bit too serious wanting to become the new luvvies of the premier league.
I don't miss the lower leagues, but I do miss the ability to take the piss out of ourselves.
Lighten up and enjoy the bad times as much as the good

Personally, I've made a decision to join in more discussions next season related to tactics. Currently I avoid most discussions on formations, number 9s, false number 9s, etc, mainly because I have little input to give. I generally judge a game as I see it on TV and look more at individuals rather than the collective. However, I plan to do a spot of reading on the subject over the summer and I expect there will be some exciting and totally non-boring or repetitive discussions with Rob and Paul as of August. Aside from that I consider myself an all-rounder from a poster perspective and don't feel any improvement elsewhere is necessary. I'm calm, collected, factual, fair, humourous on the odd occasion, embarrassing in others, I can take banter, I can give banter, I don't jump down players necks after 1 bad performance, and I'm most definitely in the top 3% of the all-time cool and respected posters lists. Most importantly though, I'm humble and always open to criticism and other peoples opinions. E.G. If someone says 'Foster, you're an absolute cunter with a tiny cock and no balls!' then I respect that. I really do. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, even if they're worth less than mine and totally wrong. Anyone else got a next seasons resolution?...Surely every poster on here has room for improvement? Whether it be do with reactions to news, reactions to other posters, your posting style, etc.. Let's share.... Foster, for somebody who cant get the better of March4 you'll need some sort of re-incarnation as Gary Neville to go toe to toe with those pair. Good luck with that one mate.

As an experienced poster I have learnt that the best way to deal with March and others which come out with statements such 'goals are irrelevant' or 'mama's return coincided with the clubs best ever run' is to simply to ignore them. Of course this experience only comes once you've exceeded 5k posts. Up til then you sit there re-reading them in a fit of rage.

Also, I agree that defeating Rob and Paul is a hell of a task one on one. Together it is nigh on impossible as they make a formidable partnership.
I await the day when the honeymoon period ends and they disagree with one another. That is the time to strike.

I remember the days when March4 and Mystical Descent were an untouchable tag team, duffing up all who failed to see it their way...the "Saint & Greavsie" of their day, if you will. March4's "Goals are irrelevent" comment is as infamous as Alan Hansen's "You don't win anything with kids" remark round these parts. It put him on the map and ensures Oatcake immortality for the veteran poster. Do you have a catchphrase in mind Foster?

Absolutely - I've been pushing 'can't believe he's not a no 6' all season - people actually nod and look at me like I'm a savant. Try it!

I will continue to tune in to see what bullshit is posted about new signings and how our current players are shit at everything. I will probably also defend our new signings like all the others from the inevitably wonderfully made up assumptions and the normal quips from the usual posters on the board during the match thread. Then I resolve to check out the post match threads where we will probably have the proverbial agenda driven diatribes from the know it alls as per usual. Should be like normal. Kind of miss the bullshit.

To valiantly continue on my never ending quest to secure the footballing services of 'Il Bomber', Fabio Borini. That little bastard finished my FIFA managerial career quest for a treble with Stoke, he had a galatico goal coming off the bench for Liverpool in the 85 min for the J. Paint trophy. I threw the controller on the ground the other day lol

I'm going to try very very hard not to change my avatar and name every month. Because I think fellow posters are not getting to know the real OkieStokie which is essential to group bonding. But the "real" OkieStokie might be a chameleon character so if you kept your Avatar the same you wouldn't be true to yourself and we wouldn't see the real OkieStokie
