Christensen seems to mainly be a CB,so maybe can forget him.
Hard to know what we're looking for and what number of games we could offer whoever we get (if it isn't a real front-liner like Moses)

Is Moses not affected by the same rule someone mentioned on here for Denis Suarez being loaned to Sevilla! I think it was in the Sergi Roberto thread? Why not get more money for bego and ignore the loan situation unless it' s Moses D Suarez move could mean that Roberto is available and is our best chance of a "next level " player imo

I doubt our shortlist was Moses, Loftus-Cheek, Ake and Bamford.
There certainly seems better options than Ake and Bamford

Wouldn't be surprised at Salah, who's trying to get out of a 2nd year on loan at Fiorentina and maybe why this deal is taking so long to complete

A floaty No. 10 type that can play all across the behind 3.

Is Salah still there?
He'd be a good addition.

Aren't Fiorentina trying to sue Salah because he isn't joining them and he's said he's joining Inter or Roma?

Has Salah gone back to Italy? I think I'd prefer him over Shaqiri to be honest he's got a few prem games under his belt, he did superbly at Fiorentina and he's a leftie playing on the right.
Ooops - I see my question has been answered. I'd still pull out all the stops to try to get Salah - he'd be ideal for us.

I would take Loftus-Cheek definitely, but not sure how many starts he would get, meaning Chelsea may want him to go elsewhere

They also have that Kalas, who was on loan at middlesbrough last season, Rb/Cb, not sure if he is better than Geoff really though Kalas is definitely an interesting one. I've convinced myself that he's a right sided Erik Pieters, even though I've only seen him play at centre half Romeu is another intriguing one too. Has apparently done quite well out on loan in the Bundesliga last season, and with the Barca links too......

They shouldn't be surprised though. Again it's all pointing to a touch of naivety.

Seems like quite a delicate situation with this swap deal. Dependant on firstly, if we get Shaqiri we won't want any of Moses/Salah/Van Ginkel. And secondly whether Nzonzi leaves decides if we're asking for Ake/Loftus-Cheek/Chalobah. But if we do sign Shaqiri, but Nzonzi does opt to stay, who would Chelsea have of interest to us? Kalas seemed a good shout from someone earlier in the thread, we're in the market for a fullback clearly so perhaps that's the third option.
Presumably the confirmation of Begovic leaving is entirely dependant on the arrival of Shaqiri. I think as soon as we see one move, the rest will fall into place very quickly, and with pre-season tours nearing I can imagine we could see 2/3 departures and signings in a really short space of time next week..

The names linked (e.g. Bamford, Loftus-Cheek & Aké) seem a little below what we would be looking for.
Does anybody think that we may be trying for Remy on loan, now they've got Falcao?
Also what about the forgotten man Marko Marin?
I think our list of targets will look a lot more like...
Salah Van Ginkel Mikel Piazon Marin Moses
Hopefully not Chalobah.

They shouldn't be surprised though. Again it's all pointing to a touch of naivety. Sorry Bayern, I can't believe that an intelligent bloke like Bego would sell out his career to go and sit on the bench like Cech did. He would have domestic upheaval to go along with frustrating his career as a footballer. I must be naive to think he should accept that he has already got all that money can buy, security for life, and the huge respect of his club's fans and national fans but wants to go and play second fiddle at a club that deals with players like a cattle market, buying up every bit of talent they can lay their hands on to suppress competition and farming them out throughout the leagues.

Van Ginkel isn't a winger, so he wouldn't have a bearing on Shaqiri's deal.

Surprised nobody has mentioned Remy, he is down the pecking order at Chelsea now.

Why? He'll be on 70/80k a week working under one of the best manager's in the world and playing in quite a few games to boot. It's a fantastic move for him. You can always have more money, he will win things and he's moving to one of the best clubs in the world.

Going to a club that will win titles and cups and he could end up the number 1 who knows.
