By the looks of things common sense has prevailed and the plans for ground expansion have bin put on hold. How can people honestly complain if we are not selling out week in week out? Get over it people.

You can't sell out hundreds of single seats when the demand is for pairs, threes, etc.
I'd rather sell 99% of 30,000+ than 99% of 27,500.
Wouldn't you...

Maybe the plan is to wait and see if the club can win something next season or get into Europe and when there is a substantial demand go for a major expansion?
Just a thought.

Total no-brainer

We can't sell single tickets because hardly anyone will buy a ticket on their own. Plus people wont buy tickets for a group when you have to pay £30+ for a home game.

Come on people one thing at a time, the new dug outs are top priority on stadium improvements this close season so that when our new very expensive signings are dropped to the bench they are nice and warm. These corners do cause a fuss on here I have to say but I'm sure the club will do it when THEY are good and ready. For me it's what's on the pitch counts. As always just my opinion.

The planning permission only has about 2 years left ? so a decision will probably have to made next pre season

When you hear that teams like Leicester are going to extend the ground by another 10,000 you do have to wonder why we are not doing it.Having said that for me the only way it would work is to give away fans more tickets as a starter.

Pathetic, narrow minded, small time thinking, typical of this City in general.

Our average gate last season was 27,050 which is almost capacity Only the high profile games we sell out on, the other the club give away 1000's of tickets to community projects and the city 7's if they didn't there would be only 25000 at the games. Untill the club can fill the ground without resorting to giving away tickets I cannot see them expanding

Untill the club can fill the ground without resorting to giving away tickets I cannot see them expanding 1,000's of tickets is completely over egging it. And if that was the case how can they fill the ground when two weeks before a game you can't get even two seats together? They can still continue to give tickets to community projects and kids as they are the future of the club, but those extra couple of thousand seats will help exiles, people who are self employed, students, shift workers and generally people who might not know they can make the game until fairly late in the day get a ticket. On several occasions this season I've tried to get tickets for my wife and two boys (I have a season ticket) and apart from the QPR game I couldn't get seats together. For the Spurs and Sunderland games the club were announcing on the website "Still tickets available" a week before the game when there wasn't two seats together in the whole fucking ground! Such a small time attitude the club has on this one I'm afraid......

If the club is giving loads of tickets away for none prime matches I think it would be stupid to expand and have rows of empty seats for most matches.
The club has never been strongly supported by the local population in it's history.
Planning permission lapsing in not an issue. Planning can not be open ended. It can be readily reapplied for and would be granted again as there is precedent unless there was a significant reason to refuse. If there was a significant reason such as extra investment in the area causing a traffic issue then it is the wrong thing to do anyway.

The builders are busy building bet365 New hq's this summer. We should have written to DIY SOS big build to get it done. Then again it is the BBC. We'd be last on to get it done.

And a reminder that the few hundred average below capacity is often due to the non sale of all away tickets.
What's more, we must still be the only club which, when promoted to the P.L. actually reduced its capacity. It was originally a 28,000 seater!
And why when club photo's of the stadium are used, is it always taken from the South Stand? Just coincidence, I suppose. Oh dear....

Rotational Season tickets. Mop up some of the empty seats by offering them on a rotational basis. Buy a discounted season ticket {shared with three others} which gives a match in the South Stand, then one in the Novus, one in the Boothen, and then a match over in the posh end. Move around the ground and take in the differing atmospheres. Get a priority option to buy one of the seats you're sampling if you particularly like it.
Rail standing in the scoreboard corner too.
