Closest League club - Carlisle - 33 miles
Closest "Conference" club - Barrow - 40 miles
Closest club of any size - Keswick - 6 miles
Closest Premier League club - Sunderland - but in recent years has been Burnley/Blackburn/Blackpool/Wigan/Middlesborough - I'd love to see Preston in the Premier League. Friendly club, nice stadium, shortish drive and decent parking.
Oh, and Stoke (I have a season ticket) is 135 miles away!

Leeds United paid £36 to watch them play Rotherham...the things you do to keep the misssus happy! wouldn't an orgasm have been cheaper and more beneficial to both parties?

Ely City for me, never been, doubt I ever will. Professional - Naarwich, even that's 55 miles and over an hour away. Stoke is 155 miles, two and a half hours with no stops and a following wind or about 4 hours on the train, I too have a season ticket.

From where I live now, Wolstanton, the Vale is closer. However, to do this right I think I should consider where I lived in my formative years when I first became a Stoke fan. Then also it should be measured by foot, not in the car, as I wasn't old enough to drive. Also, it should be to the Vic not the Brit. That way Stoke wins each time for the 3 houses when I was a lad going to games with my mates.

Coventry City. Ooh, the memories so that day in 2008 come flooding back! Although I was there, on my own, with the home fans, so it was a bit frustrating having sit there quietly when we scored. Brought up in Audley, so closest then was Crewe.

I live 2 miles away from the Wolves ground. I have a knee operation coming up and my physio will be done at Compton, their training ground.
I will wear my colours with pride.

The Vale Congratulations for being honest. Although it is maybe best to support local (or nearest) team, this should not be at risk of being a bell-end. So, you're fine

And your knee will never quite recover properly Burton Albion for me. 10 minute walk away. Although it was Leek Town when I was growing up.

Woking are the nearest team then AFC Wimbledon. Ditto Nearest non-league: Woking Nearest league: AFC Wimbledon Nearest attended: Brentford, Fulham, QPR, Chelsea (all within 15-20 miles) West-side, booyakasha... One day I'm going to live in the estate behind Costa's Catch of The Day chippy and amble up to The Brit with my walking sticks and flat cap - you gotta' dream...

Its a close call for me I think its Orlando by about 12 miles closer than Columbus, but I haven't checked it out. Atlanta actually have a new franchise starting in 2017. In fact the semi finals of the Gold Cup (CONCACAF) is being played in the Georgia Dome in July. Having said all that, in 2017 I will be semi retired and moved to Santa Barbara CA so it will be LA Galaxy for me fawning over Stevie G (if he's still here and has't got homesick for Huyton!)

Yes I agree that sounds like a recipe for disaster even if you speak fluent yam yam.
