Why the hell people are booking and purchasing tickets now is beyond me!! (See my earlier post) Just a thought, but wouldn't it be better if all the travelling stoke fans were housed together to create a bit of a decent atmosphere!!

Anyone found any decent hotels near the ground/city centre? How far away is the airport from the city centre does anyone know?

Majority staying in the Marriot Courtyard from the posts on here , decent location for the city centre , on transport links to the ground which is on the outskirts of Cologne and 15kms from Cologne Bonn airport , hope that helps.

Train from the airport to the city centre (main station) takes around 25 minutes, train from Düsseldorf airport to cologne station takes 35 minutes! As for hotels, any around the station/cathedral are good location wise! German hotels tend to be of good standards..... Just look for reviews and ratings on trip advisor if your unsure

Think if we get in touch with Stoke and told them how many are going cologne they might get in touch with them and get us an end and sell tickets?

Me and the lad going.
Any ideas about the format of the competition? The ticket booking looks confusing.
So is it - A straight knock out with a final and third place final i.e. two games per day?
Is it - I guess - 45 minutes each way and then straight to pens to get a result?
I have known different formats for pre season contests like this - any ideas/
The Colonia cup we've won it one time !!!

The Germany Vs USA Friendly tonight was held at the Cologne Stadium,it looks an impressive gaff and it's massive at 50k so i'm guessing there is no need to panic over getting tickets til we arrive over there.oh and the yanks won but Geoff Cameron has been told to rest by Stoke.

5 stars? Posh sod . How much did that set you back mate? got a good deal, 3 nights for the price of 2 for £80 a night B&B twin room, prepaid in advance so no refund if you cancel though, as the flights are booked I'd still go if the games were cancelled 5 minute walk from the train station which is 20 minutes from the airport apparently

If Cologne ticket office are saying N5 and N15 are for our guests wouldn't be easier if those going booked in there and we'd all be in the same area?

Absolutely no need to buy tickets online, but hey ho! Waste your booking fees/postage costs and the fact that you don't know where in the stadium we will be housed!! Best waiting for at least an official word from stoke, if not, it will be a piece of piss to sort when we are there!! Could be a bit shit sitting amongst the locals whilst looking over at the stoke fans having a ball!! All because you flapped and ordered tickets before you actually knew what was going on regarding arrangements!!

Think I will go to this event, but not sure if I really want us to win and end up being the proud owners of the Colon cup, we could end up being the butt of a lot of jokes

How about people who want to buy tickets in advance do it that way and people wanting get them on the day do it if that way.... without telling people they are wrong to do it.
Even If people end up in the home end then they might actually have a good time in a friendly tournament.
Can't wait.

There is no point pre booking tickets for such a huge stadium - wait to see where we are designated to stand/sit??
Booked rooms at NH Koln City Hotel £55 night double room. On Rhine and can walk up river to tourist areas in old town around Great St Martin. Taxis to station - airport - ground

Even If people end up in the home end then they might actually have a good time in a friendly tournament. Can't wait. This^ Though no crying by either group when Those who buy in advance find a) they regret their choice b) Allow themselves to get wrapped up & bundled into a cheaper area than they've got a ticket for c) having bought a ticket for the home area gets a smack on the chops by a sausage carrying half pissed German of course the chances are you'll have a great time or by those choosing not to buy , who find a) spurred on by the chance to easily pick up tickets , Cologne have a full turnout and the games sell out b) having settled into a nice beerkellar , you find you have to break up the party to go and get your ticket c) viewed with displeasure by the police for being as they see it a large group of ticketless drunken little Englanders , get their Irish pub surrounded and are refused to go anywhere other than when or where the police dictate. Of course the chances are you'll have a great time Though given the numbers likely to travel, 300 ish last year, this year an easier ,even more attractive trip, so probably more.possibly considerably more . So wouldn't hurt the club to make an announcement sooner rather than later..though believe they're busy selling cars this weekend

Each to there own but why go all that way for a friendly,in my opinion the club take enough money off us during the season Well we see it as a bit of a holiday break linked to some football - last week end before the season so hopefully most of the team should be in place and up against quality opposition Reliving our Euro exploits

Each to there own but why go all that way for a friendly,in my opinion the club take enough money off us during the season Because it's a chance to experience a different city and culture. A chance to spend a few days with some mates in the sun (hopefully) drinking some excellent beer. And exactly what are the club taking off me for going? Couple of hunderd quid to get there and back - They get nothing. Couple of hundred quid on a hotel - They get nothing. Couple of hundred quid on beer, food and a bit of sightseeing - Nothing. 15 Euros on a match ticket - maybe a couple of Euros though I doubt it. I'm struggling to see your point
