Liverpool versus Everton you always get them and there seems to be little issue there? If you've got that much of a problem speak to the stewards, but this 'lack of respect' element is pathetic. They're not abusing you, they're not hurting you, they're not even mildly offending you. They have no impact on your life whatsoever. Just grow up, ignore them and watch one of the best performances this club has ever produced and be happy.

"deserve a slap", So many internet hard men.
Nobody deserves a slap over a football match it is the 21st bloody century. If you have an issue just tell a Steward.
Especially as has been so many times in this thread these people might be tourists and not understand the particular 70s "culture" you follow.

It's nothing to do with respect it's about using a bit of nogging and understanding that our football culture isn't the same as everywhere else. Liverpool and Everton is one off!!! I wouldn't for one second go and sit in the kop with my stoke top on and if I did I'd expect a good hiding. Right or wrong that's just how it is.

View from block 28 - wtf were they doing there? most likely group of 'foreign' fans probably Yanks or from Asia, bought tickets thru various Scouse touts for a packet and thought they could sit and enjoy! Few years ago we had couple free of tickets given to us for Shit v SCFC happened to be back of Stretford End, sorry but most fellow fans were from Asia, filming the game on I-phones,The couldn't care less who were were as long as shit won. Hated every minute and left soon as we could. Damn those touts

They even shook my hand at the end of the game. Now I expected a cuff when they Sussed me and thought I was in a world of shit but they were good as gold and I was grateful to them for their hospitality. I'm not one of the retards btw mate I was just stating it's not very wise for a group of about 10 wearing away colours in the home end whether it be at our club or anywhere else. I am glad they left you alone in the kop!!!!

One man ran from the back row of the stand down to them to just have a go at them and pushed one of them and looked like he tried to throw a punch, what an idiot, embarrassing, should have been chucked out himself

I was right behind them. I didn't see anyone get slapped to be honest. But this happens when you park your ass in the home fans section. We have come a long way since the bad old days but passion will always take over when groups of away fans end up sitting in home fans sections. Its happened to our fans and we moan and groan about how Neanderthal their fans are when you can't even sit and watch a football match. Quite simply, as I have done in the past, if you have to go into the home fans section, hide your colours and shut up. In football with its tribal ethos, we will never ever be able to mingle like Rugby fans for example. It's just part of the game, wherever you go in the world. Not an issue in games I've been in Germany. My other half even asked why we had police when we played Cardiff in the promotion year! (it was her first game in England, bless) Was going to say the same thing. I had the pleasure of watching Dortmund on Saturday and there was loads of Bremen fans sat with us. No problems at all. Hugely refreshing to go to a game there. Would recommend everyone goes at some point.

No doubt someone will try and blame the Liverpool fans and yes it wasn't wise to sit with your club colours but I think we need to look at the knuckle draggers like this guy. Its a game in the end and you get behind your team. 99.9 percent of fans luckily don't think it gives you the right to belt someone. He should be banned from the club for life.

Why do we bother having segregation, stewards, police if it should be so fucking nice? It's not the 20th century anymore. The world has evolved and so have people. Unfortunately there still seems to be idiots that attach themselves to football clubs to cause trouble. I agree if someone comes looking for a fight then give him what he wants, but to attack a tourist just wanting to watch a game of football is disgraceful. Fucking mindless pond scum knuckle dragging retards the lot of them

Do I believe your assertion or the evidence, of which there is plenty? To believe you I'd have to dismiss the facts. I'd also have to go along with the assumption that back in the 'bad old days' everybody supported violence at football matches and that somehow, people had now wised up and were more genteel and very, very nice to each other. Well, back in the day, a lot of people abhorred violence and didn't get involved. I know, I was there and just as now, there were 'idiots' attached to football clubs. Just as now, some engaged in violence and others didn't. The facts would indicate that nowt much has changed in terms of idiots and their attitudes and behaviours. Going into a home end with your colours on is pretty idiotic behaviour irrespective of decade, century etc.

Why weren't they refused entry if they were so obviously not home supporters?
Is it too cynical to suggest that they would have been entitled to a refund had they not stepped inside the ground...

This all happened a few rows in front of where I sit, I had just been to the gents as they were being led out so I had a chance to speak to a few of them as our paths crossed on the concourse below the stand...........
They were all German, and were baffled by what had just happened, they could not understand why they had been moved, smacked and what the problem was, obviously sitting in such a large group did not help but only a couple that I noticed had Liverpool colours the others just wore them shit half and half scarves and could have been foreign stoke fans for all I know, I know there was a few Finnish and Norwegian lads over but these boys were defiantly German because I asked them.
I have sat more times in the wrong end with Stoke away of late due to the new demand for tickets but I would not wear colours, I would not vocally get behind the boys and I certainly would not celebrate a goal if we scored one, It is all about being street wise really and not taking the piss, I would not expect a smack in the kisser just because I am sitting there I would hope that I am afforded a little bit of respect for being a fellow footy fan, things have moved on from the 80s & 90s and although I did not see it I was told about it I don’t think it warranted a punch in the jaw for what they had done, other than a couple wearing colours they had been quite low key.

Away fans shouldn't be sat in the home end and should expect a smack if they do so. Stoke still has more than its fair share of "lad's" that don't like it. Is it something I'd do ? NO . Is it something I condone ? NO , buts it's to be expected and unless it's the elderly, womens or kids then to be honest I have no sympathy for them . Football is territorial and anyone stupid enough to wear colours in the wrong end shouldn't be shocked when they get chinned especially at somewhere like Stoke Stupid comment. Well done to the two Stoke big men in the family stand who threatened and abused a 14 year old kid (Liverpool fan) who was sitting with his Stoke schoolmate. The kid was traumatised and they had to leave. Real tough guys. Credit to the city.

Well I guess give the benefit of the doubt and hope he rarely sees matches. Agree on the whole about the 50/50s though... Especially for league games. When I saw the West Ham game this season I saw a guy wearing a 50/50 Stoke vs. United scarf and I died a little inside "Every time you wear that scarf, I die a little. Every time you sing Delilah/Bubbles, I wonder why, why, why a little..."

How is what they did so bad to deserve getting punched by a fuckin low life dickhead? I too was around at football in the 80s and 90s and it was much more accepted in football that there would be trouble. Nowadays it's despised by 99% of football fans. I saw the incident as I was only a few rows away and to run 20 rows down to whack someone for watching a football match is fucking pathetic in this day and age

Some Grimsby teenagers invited him & his mates for a walk off the beaten track, which he declined. I asked if her son was wearing designer clothing, she said he was wearing his Stone Island top. That'll do it....

I heard about this straight after the game from a mate of mine that works within the club and it sickened me. The group were all Stoke supporters from the Southern Germany and Austria supporters club who had come over especially for the game. Something they have done several times - even bringing over as many as 100 people at one point to support our club. They bought their 50/50 scarf outside the ground to celebrate the last match of the season and with the last game of Gerrard - just as a memento of the occasion. At the start of the game some Stoke fans saw the Gerrard/Liverpool connection on the scarf but failed to spot the Stoke connection. As many of the German/Austrian fans couldn't speak English that well they were struggling to explain that they were Stoke City fans and not Liverpool. They all got ejected for their own safety, one of them got assaulted and they all missed the game.
Sorry, but welcome to Stoke. Really sad.

exactly how it should be. One man on your own, and judging by your anxiety at the time it could have gone either way. Perhaps your personality endeared you to them that day or your ability to stay quiet helped? It could have gone either way mate tbh. On my own sat in an end that big is pretty daunting. They could have kicked fuck in me. I did stay quiet but they still Sussed me out and to their credit just gave me some well deserved banterous ribbing and that's the point I was trying to make about yesterday's tourists in the seddon. There was just no need to give one of them a slap. They were foreign and naive about wearing colours. It seems perfectly normal to do this in their country and in their naivety they failed to do some research into English stadium decorum and one of them paid with a clip up the ear hole and some of the others were spat at which to me is worse than the punch. I've sat in a few home ends and never opened my gob or worn colours once and only ever got sussed in Liverpool. I'm no great lover of them as a club but I'll never forget the treatment I got from their fans that day

The front of the South stand was full of school kids who were waving the flags pitchside before kick off, that's why the reaction to the goals looks a bit shit on the highlights. There were a few Liverpool supporters dotted about though, including 2 next to us. They didn't make a sound and caused no trouble.
Bertie Biggins could also be found in the South stand yesterday.

I hope the club do something nice towards them, free tickets in the main stand or something.

Most people sat round him didn't seem to know who he was and looked pretty puzzled when 'hairy potter' came over at half time and tried to start a song for him. I think they were Liverpool.
