If you were a scout watching yesterday though you wouldn't recommend him to your manager if you were scouting for League 2, that's the issue. He was the worst player on the pitch in a game between the two worst top flight u-21 side and we started with two 17 year olds and a generally very young side! A few weeks ago Man Utd started Falcao in an under 21s game. He missed a sitter, deflected a goal bound shot off target and was subbed off an hour into the game. Tex looked a capable young defender pre season. Let's not be daft here. He needs a proper chance. I aren't being daft, I was honestly left speechless after what I had seen he was that bad. It's not like he is Falcao, he's a bloke who's career at a decent level is on the line here, he should be doing everything to stand out in these games. This is two games now where I've watched him and honestly thought it was a bloke from the stands. He's been that bad and it's not because of who he's playing with.....they'd be better without him and giving a youngster a go.

I wasn't that impressed in pre season really. Not one I was excited about or expected anything from

Hopefully a kick up the arse and a good loan spell next season will see him show the reason why he got a contract here. If not then he'll be shipped out next summer no doubt.

If these sort of players are blocking home grown players then they should be just be paid up and got rid. Disgraceful. It's high time our academy gave us something to shout about rather than importing duffers like this.

If Agudelo was given a permit, he'd be in our starting XI now with how bad Walters has been playing, that's how stupid the rules are.

They will probably be keeping an eye on who and what we are signing and taking a note. They see a player being signed who isn't from our academy. That's a black mark, a big one. I'd imagine with our burgeoning academy not featuring in any premier game at all, that as soon as a appeals panel is asked then we're hardly given a look in. It's a hot topic now and this signing is as annoying and pointless as it can get.

I'm still 100% he'll be a star player for us soon.
I think.

Come on, give the boy a chance. He's 22 and barely played. I remember a lot of people tearing Muniesa to pieces after his first foray against Everton and look what a player he's become. I would personally say let Dion have a full season in the Championship, or even League 1. I don't believe in writing off a player who hasn't been given a chance. He was shit against Villa, but exactly how we're supposed to assess him from that I don't know. See Brek Shea ....

Let's just say 'Johnny Brazil' is something of a joke figure amongst the squad. He can't believe his luck and everyone else can't believe how bad he is!

I liked Brek when he was here but lets be honest he was never going to be good enough and never will be. Another player we never really gave a chance though. I appreciate that in a league as big as the Prem giving random run outs to nobodies is a thing of the past, but you really can't judge players from such limited exposure. History is littered with players who weren't given a chance by one club and subsequently went on to achieve success.

Is my memory playing tricks on me or didn't Hughes know of him at Citeh when he was a youth player?

Is my memory playing tricks on me or didn't Hughes know of him at Citeh when he was a youth player? Yeah, he was at Man City with Hughes. Not sure if that makes the decision to sign him better or worse? "Brazilian-born Teixeira is believed to have impressed on trial at Stoke recently and the two clubs are close to agreeing a deal to see him move to the Britannia Stadium.
Stoke boss Mark Hughes is an admirer of Teixeira having worked with the former Manchester City trainee during his time at the Etihad Stadium."www1.skysports.com/football/news/11701/9303240/transfer-news-stoke-city-poised-to-sign-defender-dionatan-teixeira

I only saw him in the cameo vs villa and his performance was farcical. Unbelievably crap

Unbelievably crap It really is complete bollocks to keep bringing up his brief appearance at what was effectively left back in the dying minutes of a game we eventually won thanks to a penalty. He may well be crap but the Villa game has no bearing on anything. He wasn't on the pitch long enough for anyone to make a reasoned judgement.

True, but if his performances in his regular position for the under-21s, where he should shine, are as diabolical as Bayern suggests (setting aside his Victor Meldrew-esque nature, I do feel Bayern can spot whether Jonny Tex even remotely resembles a footballer!) then this was one major dropping of a bollock. At least it hasn't cost us too much, but it should be a valuable lesson learnt (I think it has, which is why we have taken Wollsheid on a trial period).

Not arguing with anyone who has seen him for the U 21s on a regular basis but I was at Villa and can't believe anyone can use that stick to beat him with. In all likelihood he's a dud but perspective is needed at times.

I don't think there has to be a magic number for how long a player needs to be on the pitch before determine that he is not as good as the rest of our squad. As a player it takes me only a few seconds to know whether I am better, around equal, or not as good as an opponent. Even if I watch players warm up I can see who is going to be a problem and who will be the weak points of the team. He can improve, but there is a wide gulf between where he is at compared to our other defenders. That much was very clear in his villa cameo.

Having witnessed Woodgate playing right back away at Wolves for far longer than Tex played against Villa, the 'crap' bar has been set extremely high.
