He is absolutely fucking useless, along with the rest of the under 21's Very harsh - Shenton, Ngoy and Coban may well have a very good future in the game. Jonny Tex, however, looks like a gamble that may well not come off. Still, he was cheap!

I've watched Coban a few times now and I can't see it. He takes too many touches and then loses the ball. I've only ever seen him play on the wing though and he's just not a winger.

However thought Julian N'goy looked good for the under 21's. One for the future.

I only saw him play for a few minutes against villa but it was enough to see that he is utterly useless and will never make the grade at prem level. League 2 player at best

His cameo at Villa was enough to show me that he will never be a prem player. Do Barnsley need a CB?

Bet the lad is filled with confidence after reading this thread. Time is on his side and people who are a lot more qualified than us have obviously spotted potential in him.

I thought he looked class pre season! Haven't seen him since but thought we had found a good player at the start of the season

If he can't take a thread on the Oatcake then there's no hope for him with 20,000 people on his back when he's got a Premier League striker harrying him!

Dionatan Teixeira. Don't spell my boy's name wrong. He'll go out on loan next season, no worries. Shit happens. In other news after fanboying over Brek and Dion, I'm no longer getting excited about any future signings. Jase old fruit, no worries our Brek, the lad has come good over here in the colonies.

Orlando definitely need him! It's just a shame Agudelo didn't get a permit, he'd be playing now with how shite Walters has been.

This is funny, when I said he looked out of his depth in the brief cameo he made against villa lots of folks felt I was being unfair to the lad. Now I see it's open season!

As well as all the time spent by coaches trying to polish a turd.

I'm almost certain someone told me he was brought in to be our version of Kompany, I think it may have been one of the SLP guys....

Come on, give the boy a chance. He's 22 and barely played. I remember a lot of people tearing Muniesa to pieces after his first foray against Everton and look what a player he's become. I would personally say let Dion have a full season in the Championship, or even League 1. I don't believe in writing off a player who hasn't been given a chance. He was shit against Villa, but exactly how we're supposed to assess him from that I don't know.

A friend of a friend who's involved in the academy (yeah, yeah I know) told me he won't make it in the BPL. Brief cameo appearance in the first team and longer spell in the reserves suggest this assessment is correct. I expect he'll be gone in the Summer.

Tex is one of those ones where if you have been around for long enough you just know is dead in the water even if you haven't seen him play.

If you were a scout watching yesterday though you wouldn't recommend him to your manager if you were scouting for League 2, that's the issue. He was the worst player on the pitch in a game between the two worst top flight u-21 side and we started with two 17 year olds and a generally very young side!

I think Hughes must have remembered him as a promising youngster when he had him at Citeh. Trouble is he may not have moved on since then. It happens. I'm sure we'll realise soon and send him back to the Slovak league.

Trust in Hughes, he'll come good......

Tex had some games under his belt in the top league in....Slovakia (?) I'm with those that saw enough at Villa. You can usually spot them, those that look like they've just been drafted in from the Oatcake Occasionals.

A few weeks ago Man Utd started Falcao in an under 21s game. He missed a sitter, deflected a goal bound shot off target and was subbed off an hour into the game. Tex looked a capable young defender pre season. Let's not be daft here. He needs a proper chance.
