Absolute garbage. In fact I'd go so far as to say he's Shite. I think 2004 would agree. Joe in Oz loves the fucker.

Even though he allowed Man City to kick jermaine Pennant all over the pitch in the FA Cup final, refereed that game at Newcastle last season, and general being a cnuter of the highest order against us?

Let us think about the family of David Meyler at this difficult time. Meyler is at Hull now though There was a Sunderland fan on here after that Huth red card claiming, although Meyler hadn't been touched and wasn't injured in any way, he had every right to lie prostrate on the floor for a couple of minutes because he had been seriously injured once in the past and was probably in a state of shock. Was that a general school of thought among Sunderland supporters, or just a lone crazy wolf?

No, that wasn't the thought of Sunderland supporters - a lot were embarrassed by Meyler's actions. Those actions were not being defended by the majority - take it from someone who is on the rtg board a lot Won't be surprised if another controversial red card comes out - this fixture has a history of them (Huth v Sunderland; Brown v Stoke)

I'm not sure whether it was his final contribution before disappearing.

Nice to hear there are some sensible ones among you. And to be fair I was disappointed Hughes claimed Wes Brown deserved his red card last season. Possibly my only gripe about Hughes is that he always thinks the refs are right as long as they give a decision in Stoke's favour. It devalues his criticism on the occasions when it's justified.

Awful at Rochdale and let Burnley waste as much time as they liked earlier on in the season. I agree with Billy that he is shite but maybe the fact that he is a Newcastle fan will help us.

It didn't help us when he sent off Huth, nor when he ignored Cattermole's handball on the line, in the same match he sent off one of our men for something really trivial. I suspect he's not so much a Newcastle fan, as a fan of North East football in general. He's Newcastle/Sunderland's answer to Geoff321.

This might be a blessing in disguise. It might add a bit of spice to an atmosphere that would probably have been even worse than the Southampton game.

Yes, it was him. I'm not sure whether it was his final contribution before disappearing. I don't think it was far off actually. He had some sort of meltdown on the subject. And he did! He was basically trying to say that Meyler had had a bad injury before so he had every right to think that he had been seriously injured and that's why he screamed and rolled around like a massive pussy

It's probably Hughes that he has issues with, he was in charge of Man Citeh when Michael Owen scored that 96th minute winner at Old trafford in the derby, when only 4 extra mins was shown, Hughes complained about his 'late change of appointment' to the fixture.
