personally i'd say it's far more pathetic to come onto a Stoke board and be so disrespectful to a player who was an integral part of the success we gained and got "your" club to where they fucking well are!!!! Haha ok, can't argue against our best player ever then can I? ah i see... simply create strawman arguments then because everyone thinks you're a spunkbubble! who ever said he's our best player? who said he was a great player even? who said he's good enough to even be a regular player? no-one...at all..anywhere on this thread the difference is that they can see what "Respect" is for a player who was a mainstay of the setup that allowed us to become a Premiership side and also one that were able to establish themselves in this Division. you sound like the kind of fan who'd be better suited supporting Man city or Chelsea or any other side that are happy to completely forget about their history and where they came from (relatively recently) and just focus on on who we are now and get all high and mighty because we're now a Prem side. thankfully the vast majority of Stoke fans (as you can see from this thread) are the complete opposite to you in that respect and are happy to hold onto their identity as a club who have been through the lower divisions and come out the other side specifically BECAUSE of players like Wilko! they respect and show gratitude for those that stuck with us through those times and they aren't just cast aside as soon as they become surplus to requirements. your posts on this thread have been nothing short of embarrassing for anyone involved in the club.

The boy certainly deserves a send off. It would be just wrong not too.

Tried his best but was never good enough at this level, got lucky to have a manager who felt it necessary to suck up to a chairman who 'loved to see the local lads in', Would never have had a shot under normal circumstances. wouldn't be surprised to see him join Dicko up the road.

I love Wilko.
Very rarely let us down, often it was only his tackling needed to get the crowd going.
The game needs more players like him

Good send off from me. I would have loved to see him score at the Brit. Would have brought the house down, no doubt he'll go, but I wish him all the best in his future.

never good enough at this level, . Yeah 2011 proves that. 30 games, in the 8th tightest defence in the country and a Cup Final runner up medal. Never good enough. Time to move on but I do not consider Cameron or Bardsley to be a huge improvement on Wilkinson at his best. A great servant and a local lad done fucking fantastic. Some of the posts on this thread are the work of utter imbeciles.

Right, ok then. not questioning his commitment and effort but given the chance all of us could run our hearts off for the club, but anyone who thinks Wilko is or ever was technically good enough to play in the premier league needs a reality check, even millwall sent him back.

So the fact that he was a regular in a premiership team, played in Europe and an FA Cup final means nothing to you? What is a premier league player in your eyes? To me even clint hill is a PL player because he's been a success in the PL

All played in the premier league and are by default premier league players. I'll defend Wilko to hilt because he was a vital cog in a truly golden era for this football club.

I had a problem with you saying that Clint Hill has been a success in this league that's all I agree with you're stance on Wilko as well by the way. A limited footballer definitely but he served us well while our tactics were what they were and he deserves to leave us with nothing but best wishes, and I hope he does get the send off he deserves, although I'm not too sure he will to be honest.

He played 30 odd premiership games because he had a stubborn manager who frankly didn't have a clue what to do with any player with flair.Thats it run your balls off with no skill, under Dulis you'll play every game.

I agree, under a different manager he would have been replaced much earlier. Once we got Cameron he couldn't get dropped quicker and he's hardly pushed GC or Bardsley out of the team.

It's closer to 120 actually. You don't make over a century of Premier League appearances if you're a poor player.

Wilko deserves a good send off for all he's done for the club but i can't help thinking he's one of the most fortunate footballers to have played in the prem considering the ability he has.

Or one of the most dedicated and hard working? Just because a player isn't blessed with flair it doesn't make him a bad footballer

Wilko has been ace for us. If only he could've controlled that ball at Wembley! That was funny in a non funny way at the time, the people around us just seemed to accept it I remember when we played Crawley town away in the cup a couple of years ago and as the team were warming up , I swear, we sang " If Wilko scores a goal i'm on the pitch" and he missed an open goal in training... Wilko was absolutely stellar for us in those tough early days in the Prem when it was all hands to deck to retain our place and build the platform for where we are today, history will treat his contribution kindly, I would love the opportunity to salute him, a true Potter

Dedicated and determined.
Definitely deserving of a send off to show our appreciation.
Too easy to forget where we came from and Wilko has been with us since the early days of our big adventure.
It's largely down to the spirit and character of players like him that we are where we are now.
