Stoke........ Watched the first half tonight and was losing any inclination to watch. I live and breathe Stoke but feel no emotional tie to International football. You're right. I dont feel any tie to the national team either. its a sad state of affairs when the team hand picked to be the pride of the nation is such an embarrassment that you pretend you don't know them.

Stoke Stoke Stoke Can't be bothered with England. I watched Ireland match last night because of Stoke players; Friday night I went to see Cinderella Would watch England if they had a Stoke player or I thought they were any good. But 20th world ranking is flattering them IMO; I don't think they are as good as some of the teams below them. USA may be "technically" inferior for example, but in terms of attitude, commitment, dedication to the national cause etc. they would be better. England only have their 20th ranking because they beat second rate sides in qualifying rounds. As soon as they come up against any team with quality they are invariably second best. They are a national disgrace, when you consider what they are paid and all the facilities they are provided with (training, medical, accommodation, etc.).

I think the fact there were around 83,000 in the stadium and millions watching at home is slightly more relevant than fact you didn't realise there was an England game iglugluk.
