Holiday with my lad who is 20 so a few beers Sentosa Island etc and a walk about seeing what's what. Not a full on beer fest i will be sight seeing a bit. I have stayed on Sentosa for a few days. Plenty to do. Fort Siloso is worth a walk around. Hire a bike. It only takes an easy hour to get around. I recommend you plan your trip to Sentosa in detail if you want to maximise your time. I also recommend eating off Sentosa. Restaurants on Sentosa are over priced and not great. You cant avoid it during the day but I recommend taking your evening meal across the water in Vivo City shopping centre. We had a fantastic chinese meal in here which was great value.Lots of choices, lots of restaurants and/or fast food places. Also had a great lunch at The Farmers Market (I think). All sounds great except the bike bit could be fatal at my age I will without doubt get some sightseeing in.

Am I and my lad the only UK based fools going ? 8-| I may well be popping over, my eldest is in Kuala Lumpur at the moment at Uni, he's staying over that way travelling for a bit when he's finished so if I go I'll hopefully be spending some time with him. Don't think we'll be staying in Singapore for too long tho'.

Yes mate, that's the one we booked. We gonna get early flight down from Bangkok on the 15th, though I have not yet booked the flights, gonna wait till kick off time confirmed, and if necessary will fly down on 14th. We check out on 19th. That seems a bit out of the centre. Not really a problem with the transport system being ok but where will you be doing your all day drinking..or is it a family holiday? Match days will be with the wife and kid, and prob till about 2pm on non match days, then PM and evening will try to hook up with the travelling hoards of Stoke Fans, still not tried 4 floors of whores yet.

For some it is a chance to combine seeing a new place and watching Stoke - what's not to like? The only thing I suggest is if you fly with BA to fly on the days when they use the A380 and not the older 747 - the turbulence is a bitch coming back. My recommendation would be to fly the Emirates A380 from Manchester. You can stretch your legs in Dubai for a few hours before continuing on. Each leg MAN-DXB and DXB-SNG is about 7hrs each I think. The A380 is a decent plane. Ahhhh the blss...Bkk to Singapore...1Hr 30 Min...and only 80 quid return.

I can't help thinking you will be disappointed with the 4 floors..unless it has changed drastically since I was last there (about 4 years ago).

Everyone's moaning about ticket prices being expensive now the club want to take pre season friendliest the other side of the bloody world. The players just need a run out so why go all that way with the chance of getting injuries on those pitches they play on out there is beyond me

No missus mate, she has an American friend who's moving back over there soonish, the two of them are doing a trip through the Southern States finishing up in Austin where her friends family live, she'll be over there when I fly out. Yeh, looking forward to a few beers with you too, haven't booked any accomodation yet cos we don't know if my lads' girlfriend is coming along or not and aside from the 5 or so days in Singapore we haven't decided where else to go yet, he really wants to go back to Nepal, reckons it's a great place. If we come down your way I'll certainly have a *hack* around, think I've played about 5 times in the last ten years :D He has a Malaysian sim card, I'll pm the number to you nearer the time and we can arrange a meetup, looking forward to it :)
