Sounds like a smash and grab afternoon of football Knowles! It will be, Andy! I live in Australia so can justify it, I think. That's what I'm telling myself anyway...!

Similar to me - I live in Borneo so going from Friday to Sunday! I remember the days of Keeno... cracking player but as good as Gleghorn?

Keeno was the man for me, but he never scored a promotion sealing goal for us. Did score against Vale though...
Those were the days!
I went to Borneo a few years ago- interesting place. How long have you been out there for? What are you doing there?

I went to Sarawak, so saw the orangutans just outside Kuching. Spent a couple of days at Bako National Park, too. It must be interesting working at a school over there.
I've been in Australia for over three years now, which seems to have flown by. Hopefully we can have more of a chat over a pint next week!

A beverage next week sounds great! Went to Bako National Park with my class last week which they loved as despite having rainforest and wildlife all around them they have more exposure to the modern malls than the outdoors sadly.

Singapore is not massively expensive for food. Like Hong Kong & Japan if you avoid posh restaurants (or Irish bars) at night you can eat reasonably well for decent value. Hawker centres are cheap enough for the basics...noodles and rice type stuff and many restaurants in the shopping centres are ok value. Beer is another matter. I am not one for drinking from a 7-11 so I would more likely abstain than drink out of a brown bag on the street. I am sure people will quickly suss out the cheap places. There is a backpacker area behind Boat Quay (I think) where prices can be more reasonable. It's a while since I had a beer in Singapore but I think 4 quid a pint at Happy Hour is probably the best bargain you will find with 6 quid being nearer the norm in standard bars and higher in the posher bars and later at night. My plan on the Wednesday is to drink in the afternoon, watch our game and then go back to the hotel (preferably slaughtered) around 9pm. I will not be hanging around for the Arse Singapore game. If you are really concerned about the price of ale in Singapore just Google "Happy Hour in Singapore" and go from there. Ay up Pal. Where are you staying. You gonna meet us in Muddy Murphy's. I got yr tickets. Are you still in UK or back in BKK now. I guess looking at the time of yr post it is likely to be the latter. Did you manage to get me owt from the Stoke shop. Tim I am staying down in the centre a couple of stops from the stadium. About 10mins on subway from Muddy Murphy's so plan to meet you around 3pm on Wednesday. Did not get you owt from the shop. I noticed you had a couple of mules ferrying loads of stuff over already so didnt want to duplicate. Do you want baht or Sing $ for the tickets?

Lads if you post any pics, respectfully, lets keep it to football. I'm sure none of us want to see any pics of scantily clad Asian ladies.

Not been on much lately, what time is everyone getting in Muddy Murphys on Wednesday?
I'll probably drink before the match but not after. Trying to stick to a very tight budget.

Hey Gilberto,
Really tricky one as they both have really good bits... If you go to Sandakan you would want to head to Sukau to see amazing amount of wildlife including possibility of seeing orangutans in real life. Kuching on the other hand offers a great national park or two, orangutan rehab centre, a bit more to see in the city itself... What is it you''re most interested in? If you come to Kuching I can happily help in telling you where to go etc.
Hopefully see you for a drink on Friday before the final match.
Andy
