You would've thought Kono signing for Sevilla would've been announced by now. "Team Konoplyanka" are pretty obviously a bunch of corrupt pricks. Or possibly the 3rd party (who I think is the Dnipro owner?) is playing silly buggers with Sevilla in much the same way that he did with Liverpool 18 months ago? No transfer is over until the fat lady sings - and she hasn't even cleared her throat yet! Kolomoskyi wants to much say in his future, not only does he want a cut and big one of and future sale by Seville but also wants to dictate what clubs can buy him. He is a massive ego maniac who will ruin any chance of a decent career for Konoplyanka

You've got to wonder if this deal could all go back to square one. Could quite do that. Said from day one Stoke have the largest financial package for Kono and unless someone makes a stupid decision he will end up at Stoke or stay with Dnipro

I really don't care anymore !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was really excited at the start at the thought of someone like Kono playing for Stoke, but the longer it has dragged on the more I have completely lost any enthusiasm.
If he signs ok and I hope he does the business for us, if he doesn't sign then ok and I hope we can still bring in someone else more than adequate to replace him.
Having said that please keep the info coming Marc !!

If anything that will show that he's going there for footballing and not financial reasons and that is fair enough. If he came here now, it'd just be for the money, I'd like to think (naively) that our players aren't about that generally.

I thought that the deal had been agreed with Seville because they (Seville) can deal in a way which would be illegal for our club. This 3rd party ownership palaver.

Yes, they can, pay off the 3rd party owner directly. But ONLY if the 3rd party doesn't play silly buggers! Remember, this is the guy who simply didn't fax the paperwork when Likerpool agreed a deal for Konoplyanka 18 months ago.

I do find it strange that people endow footballers with a sense of loyalty that doesn't apply to the vast majority of people who work for a living. Some people will develop a loyalty to their employer but even they would be tested by an offer of substantially more money for carrying out the same job. If it means a relocation for the entire family then other pressures come in to play and it may take longer to decide.
No different than the rest of us other than the scale of the money involved.
Have patience we continue to progress.

Just dosen't make sense.

Just dosen't make sense. Top rate of personal tax in the Ukraine is 17%. In the UK you pay 45% on income over 150k, nearly all of his income in his case. Guess what I am saying is that if he doubled his wage in coming here his take home pay would increase by far less than that. Very crudely were he to be paid £1 million in the Ukraine he would draw £830K (17% tax) If that were to double to £2 million in the UK he would draw 1.1m (45% tax) so an extra £1 million of income only gets him an extra £270k of take home pay. Barely worth getting out of bed for you might say!

linkJuly 31st is mentioned here, so maybe his contract runs 'til then which is causing the issue. Daddy Kono says he chose Seville over Atletico "because of their style of play" and his ultimate goal is to play for Barcelona. The article in the link HAS been modified as it not fullermagic ? Summit ain't right.

That's my point. Going to Spain on less money just don't make sense? I haven't seen the quotes (I couldn't give a shit) but maybe it was a bad translation and meant he'd be earning less? Which would make sense possibly with that rate of tax? No idea, I'm only arsed if he joins us, Madrid or stays at Dnipro!

I wonder if it's occurred to the kiddie that with the Russians a couple hundred miles away there might not be any football in Ukraine next season. Doesn't sound like he'll be playing for Dnipro any road . . . . en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dnipropetrovsk
