Fair play if he's signed for Sevilla as he's done so for footballing reasons, we're quick to shout money grabbing bastards at players.
Also the inevitable incoming "we dodged a bullet" people are morons. He's a fantastic player who would improve us immensely.
I can respect his decision which is actually refreshing.

I think it will also be important that we be given a full accounting from all those who (allegedly) plonked down solid cash on the outcome. We need to know the winners and losers and how much in all the gory detail.

Kono has signed for Seville on €20k less than Stoke had offered him. It is no doubt a deal that is wanted by Kono but is one that makes his 3rd party happy, as he can still have control of the player

And how is it in the E.U., 3rd party ownership is illegal in some countries but not in others? I thought the whole point of the E.U. is to have the same rules across all countries?

Jul 3, 2015 00:37:31 The Spanish club will now thrash out a deal with his club, Dnipro, before the Ukraine international will undergo a medical in Andalucia
Sevilla have confirmed they have agreed personal terms with Yevhen Konoplyanka.
The Andalucian club must now agree a deal with the player's current club, Dnipro, before securing his signature pending a medical.
The 25-year-old starred in his club’s run to the Europa League final last season, eventually falling to 3-2 to Sevilla at the National Stadium in Warsaw.
“Sevilla have reached an agreement with the player, in the absence of a medical and closing a deal with Dnipro,” read a statement on the club website.
The Ukraine international hit eight goals as his side earned a third-place finish in the Ukrainian Premier League, attracting heavy interest from the likes Atletico Madrid and Liverpool.
The move will bring to an end a nine-year spell with the club he joined as a youngster in 2006.
He becomes Sevilla’s fourth major signing after deals for Adil Rami, Michael Krohn-Dehli and Gael Kakuta have already been secured.

So apart from agreeing a deal with Dnipro (why because isn't he a free agent?) and a medical examination, KonoKono will sign for Savilla. Thank fuck for that .....here endeth the longest transfer thread in the history of the PL.

The signing of crouch was probably significant in moving us up the "serious club" rankings After that possibly Bojan was the next step. The club seem to think or know that we need to up the anti in a marketing and playing staff sense by signing another big name that the non-thinking press and non-stoke supporting public wouldn't expect possible I think they are right and I'm confident that we will do something surprising this summer. (Post written in the style of ukyestony) Crouch was big but it didn't really change anything did it? Bojan I still think is classic dog's home, we were by far his best option after he'd stagnated/been poor for 3 years! That's the sort we should be targeting again and no doubt we are. And I hope to God they do but players like Shaqiri should be at better clubs than Stoke! Without a doubt Crouch at Stoke City has been a very positive factor in the perception of our club. I was pleasantly surprised when he chose us. We need to show our ambition, be prepared for disappointments along the way. A massive difference is that we also have Hughes and his team at the helm, not to be underestimated

Where Stoke were on the pecking order regarding his options I have no idea but if we were waiting for his decision until the 1st July our transfer team want a bullet, they could of rang me.

If all that is correct, Seville are in the same situation as Stoke were and this may not be over yet Stoke agreed terms with Konoplyanka the player also passed a medical, what Seville sound like they need to do is agree terms with his 3rd party just like Stoke needed to, be easier for Seville to do as it does not mean Kolomoskyi giving up control

Marc I have to totally disagree mate, I told you weeks ago what I knew re him.
If we and I mean the club are "stupid" enough and they must be "stupid" to have our medical team fly to Ukraine, agree terms and just plainly forget to get a "pre contract signed " then I'm staggered.
Saying and doing mate Stoke are masters of this art.

So the lad will not be fully owned by Seville? What kind of control will they have over him? I certainly wouldn't like us to be paying 50, 70 thousand to a player that wasn't ours. This really should be looked at by FIFA and banned in this day and age, the last instance of this occurring that I can remember was Tevez when at West Ham and that got messy in the end.
PS Great effort by Stoke and great sign of intent but just too many obstacles with this deal from day one.

Personally I'm happy that the rather foolish chase is over - I know people like to make out that life gets more complicated as we move up the proverbial food chain but fundamentally a player sees this club as a place they can perform to their best, give 100%, and progress ...or they don't. If we are offering them an excellent salary and they still don't think this is the place for them then we should step aside - quickly!
