All starters and subs did a thoroughly professional job. Sparky spoke about game management from the players at the beginning of the season, I'm now sure he's bearing the fruits of his efforts.

nice to see these boys getting a bit of credit on here, thought they were outstanding, when wollscheid went off i didn't see us having a leader at the back wilson absolutely stepped into that role and bossed it, some massive covering tackles...whelan bossed the midfield IMO and threw himself into everything cameron is that confident on the ball he could be the white abdoulaye! to sum it up, me and my old man walked out the ground last night and embrased. i didn't give hughes much credit or much of a chance when he came to the club, so glad to be eating humble pie..thank you mr hughes and im sorry Since the Blackburn game, our Senior players have really come to the fore and showed what they are all about as individuals and what we are all about as a team and club. I can't speak highly enough of Begovic, Bardsley, Wilson, Pieters, Whelan and Walters. To a man, even when struggling in a game (like Walters did yesterday) each of them has led by example and been magnificent. It was a tough game last night and we had to dig in for a while in that second half but I thought we were absolutely superb. Every player on the pitch was superb. Hats off to Bardsley though. His professionalism in the face of that kind of provocation was first class.

Bardsley and Pieters were superb for me, best fullback performances we've seen all season. Completely agree. Bardsley shaded MOM for me.

A wake up call if you like. It was really disappointing but we're Stoke City. Those sorts of things can happen particularly when we decimated by injury as we were on the day. At the end of the day, we didn't have too many senior players on the pitch that day and after we failed to put the game to bed in the opening 20 minutes, like we should have done with 3 glorious chances, we crumbled. That's why those senior players have shone so brightly since then. Stick Begovic, Pieters, Bardsley in his natural position, Wilson and Walters into that starting 11 and Blackburn and we'd be going to Anfield on Saturday.

The back 4 were all superb. So I'll give them a quarter of the MOM award each.

I saw that on an Everton website. About Whelan? Yeah-it was on the GrandOldTeam website on the match thread.

I though Glen was MOM. Wilson played really well. Geoff took a little time to settle in. I do have concerns about his heading ability though.

A while ago I created a thread asking for opinions on Bardsley because at the time I thought he was another wilkinson but on more money. Once again this proves why MOTD never reply to any of my emails, consistent, strong, hard working, tough tackling, nut case. Gives it his all every match and always gets involved in the pushing and shoving. Am I allowed to say he's one of my favourites now or would that make me a two faced prick?!

They were all great but Bardsley was MOM for me.

Not one person in a Stoke shirt had anything near a bad game. I was thoroughly impressed 1-11, plus the subs.
What a difference in Wilson though. There's a man who wants to keep his place. Fantastic vein of form at present. He was my MOTM, but frankly I wouldn't argue against anyone.

Whelan for me as MoM but the whole defensive unit were superb and once again reacted well after having to change personnel. A special mention for Bardo who had a great game. He was Mr coolness under some provocation from was it 3 Everton players pushing and shoving him...he just stared them down and didn't raise his hands....top man.

Maybe he's relishing being in charge of the back four? In theory it's got to be easier to play your own game, if those around you are following your lead (rather than you being the one taking instructions). He was great again last night.
