I know hes got a lot of detractors on this board but I think he is a quality defender as long as he concentrates for the full ninety.
Wollscheid was a bit shaky next to him, which has brought the best out of Wilson who knows he has to take charge of every situation.
The tackle about 10 minutes from the end on the edge of the 6-yard box was Shawcross-esque. The Hull player had all the time in the world but Wilson came from nowhere to get to the ball first and stop an almost certain goal.
Keep it up Marc

Decent performance today.
Only problem is his consistency.

Wollscheid was Ryan-esq today, can't pay him a higher compliment. Read everything in front of him and recovered well when turned. Superb performance. Wislon was solid as well.

For 80 minutes wollo and Wilson didn't have a striker to mark and did it well.

I aren't a Wilson at CB fan at all, but I thought he was superb today. His problem for me has always been staying switched on for 90 mins, which he most certainly did today.
Cracking last minute challenge on McShane in the area.

I have been so frustrated by him this season, but today he was immense. The best compliment I can give him, is we did not miss Shawcross.

That block! Amazing. Again not a fan of him at CB but both him and Wolly were superb.

Wollscheid and Wilson had a massive high five moment on the final whistle. Brillint to see, both excellent.

Wilson has had two decent games in succession now and long may it continue and that from a fan that doesn't rate him at centre half

Wollscheid was the better of the two but Wilson played well too against a very bad Hull team.

Wollscheid was outstanding. One moment in the second half was one of the best defensive headers i've ever seen live. Most defenders loop the ball high and out. Wollscheid dipped his head and cushioned a lovely header into midfield and turned defence into attack in one move.
I've said it from day one and i'll stick with it. When he is up and running he will be the main stay of our defence.
For a centre half, his ability on the ball is excellent.

Also today saw the long-awaited return of the Wilson Swivel, sending onrushing opponents hurtling into the advertising boards.

Wollscheid was the better of the two but Wilson played well too against a very bad Hull team. Wollscheid had another very good game today, albeit against a shit side. Can't think of another CB in the Premier League who's passing is so accurate.

Back 4 were all good today, and I'm not always a fan of 2 of them
Bardo was steady Wolly and Wilson were excellent Pieters had a good game despite the ref being determined to hate him first half at least - every call went against Eric including one of the most scandalous yellow cards I've seen!
Was amazed Stoke finished with 11

Wollscheid was great too. We've not had a CB that can find a pass along the deck, through a midfield and straight to a forward player for a while.

They were decent at the back, to be fair all four of them did a competent job on the very rare occasion when anything was asked of them.
The real test comes on Wednesday.

ALL the Ws. wilson and Woolchild were very good.
i also thought that Wheelan had an excellent game. His distribution from midfield was for me as good as the Nonz who was voted man of the match by the sponsors.
A great and important 3 points .

I think it might have been a different story if they had Jelavic up front. Hull could've been playing until now and still not scored. Hull have been the worst team at the Brit this season. IMHO

I don't think today's game against a team with zero ambition is one to be judging our defenders on. No probs with Wilson today; didn't put a foot wrong. But hopefully he'll carry on in that vein against more challenging opponents.

Wollscheid shaky? I'll have a half of what you've been drinking in the first half Aluko did Wollscheid like a kipper on the byline when he really should have just put the ball out of play. Aluko just missed a goal but it was totally naive defending. I think Wollscheid is good part of back 4 but when hes one-on-one against a fast attacker hes a bit of a worry for me
