I don't think their was any intent in it to be honest, just one of those unfortunate clumsy ones.
Fair play to Ireland for playing on though.

Jesus wept. That is just awful and the FA should be looking at challenge, said it was a shocker and this is the proof it was.

With this having a Telegraph postmark on the picture, does this mean he's sold the picture to them?

If I could see it from the back of the South Stand, why can't the bastard officials not see it from 15 yards away? The refs and officials have reached an all time low this season. Something has to be done.

Please tell me where I said he deserved it? Just saying it looked like he dived in 2 footed on meyler (I think) No he didn't, he left one foot in when tackling Meyler and should have been booked. Dived in is way over the mark mate.

I hope there's a major review on how games are refereed next season. Major changes needed.
how can refs bang on about consistency when if there's a big game or a derby they all of a sudden allow a few tackles early on because of the occasion, yet if say Burnley are fighting for their lives every little tug is pulled up and booked.

What amazes me is that he played on and there was no sign of blood anywhere.

There was a foul yesterday just after half time on the left hand side., Pieters was on the ball and in control when he turned past one of there players and headed towards goal, the Idiot blew up and gave a foul. I and everyone around me could not work out what he had done. Can anyone enlighten me on here what it was for ?

What amazes me is that he played on and there was no sign of blood anywhere. That's cause his blood is as red as his socks mystical I watched it on sky this morning and a dark blotch is noticeable on his calf area though only a small one, like you, I'm amazed he carried on.

I can't believe it took about 40 mins for the crowd to realise what was happening. It took me 5 mins to know that bruce had told his players to stay down everytime we were building up any momentum. And he targeted our two key players ireland and moses for special treatment everytime they got on the ball. And some on here like Bruce. He came to park the bus and avoid defeat failing miserably. Hull deserve him.

I await Martin Samuel's latest pack of shameless lies, probably under the headline "Potters Call The Kettle Black" and accompanied by a photograph of Ryan Shawcross.

That looks gruesome If anyone missed the incident Thanks for posting that. Gruesome, but I don't think it was intentional and on balance I don't think it was a red, but definitely a yellow.

It was clearly intentional, you don't kick a ball like that. Equally clearly a red card hopefully still will be retrospectively for violent conduct.

If that doesn't result in a ban its time to pack the game in, disgusting, disgusting tackle. I really hope Hull get relegated now.

The question of intent is similar to the Charlie Adam 'stamp' incident. In truth, only the player himself knows.
Must admit to a couple of those in my playing days (and we wore proper studs). I also had a fair few of those done to me as well. Thankfully, there were no injuries of that sort. I don't see how Ireland's sock wasn't ripped. Perhaps it is the material of current socks that allows for a gash like that. With nice thick woolly socks, you were fine so long as the sock didn't tear.

No chance Figueroa will get a retrospective ban. Disgusting "tackle".

I definitely think it was intentional. Could easily have broken his leg. Costa got a 3 game ban for a slight kick out against Liverpool. That challenge should carry at least that length of ban.

Maybe its because I was watching on a stream and had the benefit of replays, but the ref didn't do a whole lot wrong imo, his decisions seemed to even out over the course of the game. Also the linesmen got everything spot on as far as I could tell. Are you blind? One of the worst officiating debacles I have had the displeasure of witnessing (and I have seen a few in my time). Regardless of the incompetent ref failing to see the maiming of Ireland and co, the liner on our side (Novus) was slow, regularly behind play, looking the other way when they handballed and how the hell he missed SJW being thrown to the ground in the last few mins escapes me. Something needs to be done, I go to watch the footer not to have the game potentially ruined by incompetent officials week in week out. My wife and my nephew are both qualified refs, younger and fitter than these jokers too. Maybe I will suggest that they put their names forward to officiate, they couldn't do any worse!

We won. Move on, we're not Arsenal. You are missing the point by a country mile, no doubt that Prem officiating is getting worse, I am sick of every game being overseen by incompetent idiots, there are better officials out there I know it. Where is Sian Massey when you need her, best liner we have had in recent years!!
