it gets boring reading all these threads about one player. Nzonzi a couple of weeks ago, Arnie just about every week, Whelan, Diouf, in fact almost every player has his haters. ....... even SUPER JON :-)

Geoff does have some very good attributed.
Unfortunately defending isn't one of them.

Hero to zero in less than 9 minutes. Provided the assist for the equaliser in the last minute on Sunday, got caught out by one of the world's best forwards last night, dear dear, just not good enough.

The guy is a central defender or central midfielder. He is covering for us at full back and overall I think does an alright job. Its not his natural or best position (he would admit that himself) but he always steps up.
I'm all for a reasoned debate on a players attributes, positive or negative but I can never see why the need for the abuse doled to Stoke players like this. It really baffles me.

Hero to zero in less than 90 minutes. Provided the assist for the equaliser in the last minute on Sunday, got caught out by one of the world's best forwards last night, dear dear, just not good enough. We all know Cameron and Bardsley are not out of the top draw and can get done by top class forwards. Nevertheless they are clearly Premier League standard and would get into most sides, if not the top "moneybags" 6 clubs. Personally I think Bardsley is the better at defending and Cameron is better at attacking but I would not rubbish either player.

The worrying thing is im not convinced by him in any position anymore, be it central midfield, centre back or right back.
I dont think he has a best position, mainly because I dont think hes good enough at any. Id be happy to let him go in the summer for a replacement.
Hes a poor mans marc wilson. Id keep wilson over him every day of the week

Blame culture time, one defeat to the REIGNING CHAMPIONS and somebody will be singled out,pin the tail on the donkey time, personally i think Geoff in his preferred positions is a great squad player and willing to put in a shift in any asked of him. Players like him are hard to find.

What a load of horse shit
Goal 1 = Long ball that Muni fucked up on, and Bardsley stood off and allowed him to get a shot away Goal 2 = Bardsley getting the run around and a half arsed Moses bit of defending, nice bit of play and a cross where neither centre half is watching whats going on and leave Milner free Goal 3 = Deffo Geoffs fault, wank soft tackle and then a silly tug that Silva couldnt wait to fall over from Goal 4 = Nasri running past all of our midfield easily and the two centre halves split and let him shoot into a massive gap
He has his faults does Geoff, he is generally an excellent reader of play, his crossing of late has been very good - we almost scored a second before them from a fantastic cross into the box early second half - and he offers us more going forward than Pieters or Bardsley.
To crucify one single player over a missed tackle last night, when others on the pitch had much poorer games (Bardsley, Whelan, Wollscheid, Bego, Moses) is just a sad indication of peoples agendas on here
Every week some poor fucker gets it (who isnt a favourite), yet folks like Moses who put in some real stinkers around good performances dont get mentioned - its as though people have a genuine dislike of them as people not players!
Cameron, for the money paid, has been a fantastic acquisition over the past 3 years and rarely lets us down, but when he does, you can be sure people on here will jump all over it!
Same for Marko, same for SJW, same for Crouch (who gets a load of stick from some people, its bizarre) - yet NZonzi etc are above reproach!

I'm not going to say it was one of Geoff's best performances, but his own mistake was his weak tackle on the 3rd goal. He should have wiped Silva out (ball first of course), his tackle was weak but Silva knew what he was doing when Geoff touched him. It's embarrassing to read the abuse he gets when other players were significantly worse, or at least no better.

The thing with Geoff is the less he plays the better he was, When Bardesley plays right back there is a none stop campaign to get Cameron in his place. Now Cameron is playing there people want Wilson.
Of course thing with Wilson is the less he plays the better he was

His positioning at times is laughable and people are constantly covering. He was stood near the left wing at one point yesterday moaning for not receiving a pass. I just don't rate him at all, and that's not a recently changed opinion.

I just don't rate him at all, and that's not a recently changed opinion. He is not a full back, he has requested not to be considered for the position. He played there due to our lack of options, and still people slate him, in a game against a multi- million pound team.

I sometimes wonder if you watch a different football game to the rest of us. He 'grabbed' him? Joey Barton hardly touching Gervinho. Geoff Cameron grabbing David Silva.
