The stage is set for an intriguing encounter. They will want to overtake us into the top half and we both go into the game on the back of good wins against relegation strugglers. Perhaps John Carver's stated commitment to attacking football will play into our hands, with our counter attacking style. Might well be a cracking game.

They have some decent talent going forward. I like that Cabella bloke for sure.
Indeed a game for putting pace upfront and playing on the counter. Diouf back in the team I presume

Should be a good match. It'd be nice if we had some new additions for it. For me I'd go with
Bego
Eric if fit Wolfy Ryan GCam
Whelan NZonzi
Walters Ireland Moses
Diouf

I'd probably go with the same starting XI if everyone is fit with the possible inclusion of Muni over Wilson.

Stoke should fancy their chances against Newcastle, who have a strong squad but are inconsistent and yesterday was their first clean sheet in a long time. They will play an open game so there is a good chance for Stoke to hit them on the break, but if Stoke are to get a result they will have to take their chances as Newcastle invariably score. Newcastle rarely lose to bottom half of the table sides (Sunderland excepted) and usually struggle against top half sides, but occasionally cause an upset and beat a top side like Stoke do. So this game is a good test of Stoke's standing in the Prem. Naturally they will be bursting with confidence after a 3-0 away win and beating Stoke 5-1 last season.
If Stoke can get off to a good start like last season, when they controlled the match for half an hour, then the Newcastle fans will start to get on the backs of their team. Unfortunately last year the huge partisan crowd also pressurised the referee into decisions against Stoke, but until then Stoke played brilliantly.
I think the result will hinge on whether Moses and Arni can either put in killer crosses or shoot on target. They can beat their opposite numbers but there is a shortage of quality end product.

As long as Twatkinson is more than 100 miles away we might stand a chance.

1,571 sold according to twitter, so a grand total of 75 left should be a sell out decent effort for a televised game on a Sunday. Definitely feel our away support is getting back up to decent levels now that we're showing a bit more attcking intent shall we say?

As long as Twatkinson is more than 100 miles away we might stand a chance. 1000S of miles wouldn't be far enough, all he needs to do is phone whoever is Reffing our game and tell him, make sure he fucks us over.

Team picks itself for this one. Stoke to get the win 2-1 I fancy that 2-1 win for us too. Surprised bookies all favouring Newcastle so significantly. Overhyped rating of Carver affecting opinion. Does our run of form count for nothing?! TheSportsPredictor.com is saying NEW 2-1 STO is most predicted Redknapp apparently agrees!! www.sportinglife.com/football/video/24730/9701969/redknapps-newcastle-v-stoke-previewWith this market sentiment running against us I think 5/2 for us winning is exceptional value, and worth a cheeky tenner...

Could be famous last words but I don't think Carver has got a clue. I watched the Geordies at Hull on tv and although they won 3-0 they weren't up to much. Hull were shocking and would have lost to Crewe the way they played. We are getting into our groove and I really fancy us to do the double over em

Muniesa is in for Ryan so with Pieters still out it looks like we'll have to suffer sideways Wilson at left back
